Not hating on Union I just see a lack of heart. Richlands had a big let down and Union had some luck in that game but if Union had of played the whole game like they did in 4th qtr do you think it would have made a difference on the score board? Or if Richlands hadn't went into safe mode what would it have been? I am in no way trying to act as if Union is better than Richlands because frankly they aren't. Just trying to get my point across that Union has let downs in games that are going to get them in trouble in playoffs if not before. Plenty of potential and lack of heart, really pisses me off. I played with Turner and think he has done a fine job with the team and I have much respect for him.

I myself thought Middlesboro was a pretty good team, several good players and the Lee game is dang near nation wide and people will talk about it for years to come. SWVA has several good teams and I pull for all them if not playing Union and wish nothing but the best to all the teams in our small corner of the state. No one is butt hurt and to the Union fans you mention there are a few bad eggs in every town, so don't worry about it my friend.

I believe Richlands is a great team to. You seemed to leave them out. Who cares about Middlesboro anyway and I think they will be playing Union at home next year. From what I have heard Norton will be the only team Union will be replacing on the schedule next season.

How many games have you watch them play Jerhro? That's what I thought go through my post I think they have played like shit all year. So unless you have watched as many games as I have you have no clue. If they had won by 50 they still looked like shit. If you have watched a few games and think they are amazing that shows you don't know much about football.

As a Union fan, but a realist I will give credit when it is due and right now it ain't. They have played like $&@& the last 2 games defensively. Being down a few key players is a factor but not an excuse. They played a 15 minute game last night against a Central team that is good but not as good as I had thought. 21-8 at the half and they went into sleep mode until they were down and then started playing again. Not gonna work against a good team. Yea they pulled one out of their a$$ at Richlands but only played well for one half of the game and a little luck went a long way. Don't know much about Marion but I think it will be a blow out may be and hope I'm wrong but I think it's time for a reality check and think it will happen next Friday. Just my opinion...

Union has played flat the last 2 games. After watching the Central game last night, Union seems to be in some sort of who cares mode. Marion- as many as they want Union- 7

Thanks for the words of encouragement but they are not where they should be at this point in the season. I'm not saying they are terrible, but they play in spurts, can't seem to play hard for 4 quarters. If they ever decide to play hard for 4 quarters they have the talent and potential to be a lot better than they show. Right now and probably from here on out IMO GC and Richlands are the teams I feel have the best chance to make a deep run at it. Good luck to all and hope for injury free week.

Lee is a great team and imo #40 is just as good as any back I have seen in person or on tape in this area. I think it will be a great game but catch or no catch last week they still haven't played a quality team. This will be their first real test. Lee wins a dog fight by 1 or 2 points.

Hate all the controversy as it was a good game but it is what it is. There were two officials, and both called it a TD. Sucks it had to end that way. In the best interest of both teams please prepare for the next game and maybe they will get to play in the playoffs and settle it. Myself I could watch a good game like that every Friday night.

Refs were bad to say the least. Lee is a great team and wow can #40 run. No disrespect Generalsfan or any Union fans but if either of these two teams had a good defense they would truely be hard to beat. Great game enjoyed every second of it. Good luck the rest of the season Generals.

Union has not put together a full game this year. If Union comes out to a slow start or slacks in the second half Lee rolls by 3 TDs. I truely hope both teams come out ready to play and give us an exciting game to watch. Best of luck and hope for a injury free game.

You are wrong. I have a nephew who is a four year starter, both ways, on the football team and a daughter who plays 2 sports at union and I support both of them. I honestly wish the consolidation would have happened in the 90s when I played. It would have been an honor to play with PV players and coach Jones. Phil Robbinns not so much. Most of my friends were and still are from BSG so all this rambling about not wanting to play with the Vikings is insane. Goes to show you don't know as much about me as you think. But hey we live in the same town so we should get together and talk face to face instead of behind a computer screen. I will even pay for your lunch. I'm sure I can change your opinion of me one way or the other.

I made a typographical error. I am well aware of where Bluefield is as I was there a couple years ago when Union played Graham. And your correct Appy and Bluefield are well known schools in the area along with Richlands, Gate City, and Clintwood as well as Powell Valley.

Hope you are right on this. Would be nice to see Union play a home playoff game as I see them 1 and done once the playoffs start regardless of their seeding. But after all it is high school football and crazier things have happened.

I just haven't been on here long enough to figure out when you are joking. So can we agree to disagree and be civil, but still express our opinions with just a little respect? And I also know how Union won, 2% luck with just a little flash of what Union is capable of and 98% let down on Richlands side. The best team didn't win so i will apologize fr that statement.

I don't think Union will win out, as i stated in the post. I think at best they may beat Battle and if lucky Central. So how will the math work on that? Don't know much about Marion but have read they are playing pretty good ball right now. That's the point i was trying to make, that's why I said 10th at best. Either way I'm fine with however it plays out . I'm not the big Union fan most think, they just happen to be the local team in my area that makes it convenient for me to watch football on Friday without traveling to far.

heaven forbid i made a mistake guess i will get the almighty hammer for sure now. But i understand you can't come to terms with getting beat by Union but you did it's over Union got hammered by GC so how bout we talk football instead of holding a grudge and trying to make me look like a fool over a mistake. I would venture to say it has the makings of a score fest if both teams preform at their best offensively. I don't like to make predictions but i would almost bet there will be a combined total of near 100 points in this game. Just for the fact Lee gave up 44 to North and Union held them to 14 or 21 cant remember exact score. Union showed some signs of life against Middlesboro, which was not a bad team, had great speed. It will depend on whose defense shows up ready to play and Union sometimes forgets that's part of the game. Cant wait till Friday will be there in hopes of a good game.
