  1. Yeah sometimes other things are the reasons, but a lot of it today is sorriness or lack of give a crap. They say they are to busy or don't have time, but run up and down the roads after school on dirt bikes and are at the games on Friday nights lol. Hurley is small and I think it is great that we get as many as we do.
  2. Easy for you to say that it's no excuse, but Honaker did have good talent even off the bench. How can a kid who plays non-stop compete with someone who sits out all defense or offense long, unless that kid who plays non-stop is a pure horse? Seems like a valid excuse to me, but hey that is how it always has and will be when we play you guys. Must be awesome having kids who want to play ball and a somewhat bigger crop. If all the guys at Hurley who should play would come out we would probably at least have enough to rest some on special teams. No ideal why a high school kid wouldn't want to be part of the football program at their school.
  3. Big busted plays is what gave them that statistic. It wasn't that they rushed for 9 yds a carry I can assure you that. You guys try leaving the same 11 on the field all night and lets have a rematch...
  4. Well I'm sure they did have that many yards considering all of the big rushing plays they made once Hurley would try to cover their passing attack. I'd be interested to see the first half rushing yards though. I know Honaker won big, but if Hurley could of punched in that TD from the 5 yard line I feel this game would of been a huge upset. Not taking away anything from Honaker, but they kept rotating fresh legs in throughout the game while Hurley basically kept the same 11 fielded the entire 4 quarters. You put them up against another team who probably will play the starting 11 the majority of the night and I feel that will go huge into their favor. Like I said before, not bashing Honaker for having great depth I'm simply stating that it's hard to compete with a group like that when your Hurley. These guys played their asses off the first half and I know shoulda' coulda' woulda's are worth nothing, but it still makes me proud of their effort and to know they can play at a high level. CONSISTENTCY will be key in the Haysi game. Oh and Colley at home already puts you down 2 TDs before the whistle even blows.
  5. Oh I am sure they are. I just feel Hurley's strong point defensively is run stopping and not so much the pass. Hurley could about play with anyone if you were to just line it up and run it every play and not pass the ball once lol.
  6. Richlands has the best coaching staff this side of Roanoke and I mean the entire this side of Roanoke this time. They also have kids who put in the time and work to be the best they can be. Much repsect for this program that is really the dynasty program of SWVA. Richlands 35 Abingdon Cheese Eaters 10.
  7. I really do believe Hurley will shut down the Haysi run game and this is what worries me, because doing so will cause the 5 wide passing attack to be unleashed. If Hurley can contain the 5 wide formation and get pressure on the QB, which I think they will most definately do having two excellent ends, then I think they definately win this one. I know Haysi has some excellent talent, but Colley can take an average player and make him a great one.
  8. Hurley Rebel Pride till the day I die. Haysi better button their chin straps a little tighter for this Friday comin'... Proud of my Rebels for being physical this year! I know Colley will have his troops prepared for battle, but I'm sure Tester and company will be ready to. Should be an awesome showdown with two of the best linebackers in the district anchoring each defense! Craig Stacy is the hardest playing and hardest hitting linebacker I've watched at Hurley since John Layne. The Hardin kid is tough as nails to, heck they all are. So fired up for this one!
  9. How would anyone interrupt anything other than 1A West lol? SMH...
  10. Hurley smacked Honaker in the mouth the first half and really the entire game and Honaker did their share of smacking back to. After the half, Honaker came back out with some good adjustments and the Rebels came out just tired. If Hurley had some more depth I feel they could of competed a little better with this team who had fresh guys rolling in and out all night, along with a passing attack that our DBs (who play on everything) was just to worn to cover at the end. This was a hell of a game and Honaker does have a hell of a team with some threats. I do believe our guys will be pissed off after this past weeks loss and realize they were putting up an even fight with the best team this side of Roanoke; and be ready to go to Haysi Friday night with some fire in their hearts. I look forward to this game and I do believe 110% if the Rebels play Haysi the entire game like they played Honaker the first half, that they can win this game. I love watching this group play, due to the fact of how physical they are. This is one of the hardest hitting Hurley teams I've watched in my life. Nothing to be ashamed of from this past week if any of you read this. Condition well this week and be ready to execute all 4 quarters this week at Sandlick.
