Well that certainly changes things! I say Narrows has a better than 70% chance was saying 50/50. May be the last year Narrows has a good shot for awhile. Giles JV seems to be on point.

The reason I think Narrows wins is the Giles secondary won't be able to cover the receivers. Narrows won't be able to run the ball very well if at all. Now if Giles gets pressure on the QB different story. I believe Giles will run the ball pretty well and the score will be in the 20s. More of shootout. I favor a passing game in a shootout.

This should be a good game. I'm taking Narrows by 7. Could go either way though.

Remaining schedule Carroll County- Win Rural Retreat - Win Galax - goes either way Giles - goes either way JI Burton - Win Fort Chiswell - Win Grayson Co - Win in my opinion Grayson Co isn't as good as expected Auburn - Win 6-4, 7-3 or 8-2 somewhere in there.

Interested to see the match up against Giles later in the season. I think Giles is a little better than they showed last night. Left some points on the field for sure.

Looks to be a long night for Giles in Radford.

GW must be down or Radford is just really good. Either way I feel Giles beats GW and Radford beats Giles by 14-20 points. Giles has to play Bluefield also and that will not be pretty. Bluefield will most likely win by 30+.

Love it no more domination like they did in 1A

Giles defense seems pretty good. Offense needs a little work but overall looking alot better than last year.

Taking it to Blacksburg

Not off to a good start in Pearisburg. Giles fumbles at own 40.

To those familiar with Giles football does Giles have a shifty back in the backfield this year? It seems part of the success in the past other than great assignment blocking is a shifty-athletic back. Which is something that seems has been kind of missing the past 3 or 4 years.

Agree. Blacksburg looks a little better than the previous two seasons. I think they win 1 game for sure maybe 2 or 3 depending. Best shot at a win is Giles and Floyd, Hidden Valley maybe idk. They have athletism guess it comes down to coaching and how they use that.

Predictions Blacksburg is not very good. Blacksburg did not look good in scrimmage. Watched Giles against Christiansburg in the benefit game and they looked good not state championship good but better than last year for sure. Of course this is based on Christiansburg supposedly being decent themselves. After seeing both in scrimmage Giles looks to be the better team. I would say 2 touchdowns better imo. The only thing Blacksburg has the advantage with is depth.

That is good to hear. I have them finishing either 2nd or 3rd in district. I think they beat Galax for sure. GW and Grayson they have a shot. GW has some athletes but they are definitely not as good as last year. Grayson looks pretty darn good though. Time will tell.

I believe that was the final. A tale of two halfs I guess. I saw it was 0 to 0 at the half.

Is Christiansburg suppose to be pretty decent this year?

They are a 4A school they should beat a 1A team with ease. However they are very bad and I don't see them beating Giles imo. I think a similiar result to last year score wise. Giles will score 20+ on them so it comes down to will Blacksburg be able to score with them imo.

Who will make it out of the East? Riverheads the clear Favorite?

From the other post it looks like 30 to 35ish on the team. I would bet they move a few up from the 9th grade as well. I saw a few skilled backs last year on that 8th -9th grade team from them as well. Of course they could have moved or just not hit the weight room etc and fall flat.
