Thank you for your contribution to this website. There are some people who do give a crap about Salem, unfortunately, you won't find them here.
As has been documented before on this site, many times over, the "SWVA" in the title of this site ends at Radford. It does not cover any schools that play "down in the Valley".
If you would like to contribute to and/or talk about "SWVA" sports, please do, as your opinion would be welcome. However, as the money man and hammer wielder of this site, I must give you this piece of advice...WE DON'T CARE ABOUT SALEM, PLEASE DO NOT POST ABOUT SALEM.
Thank you and have a blessed day,
Yours truly,
G

Don't be such a jealous girly man . There are already a few posters on here , that have thanked me for my participation . The world is changing sir . Dont be afraid .
DeAngelo Ramsey rising Juhior 6'201 as sophomore . last year had 11 and half sacks as defensive end.
Riley Fox 6'211 rising junior fullback
Avante Robinson rising sophomore blazing speed showed signs last year with blazing speed
Karak Paisley rising junior 6'191 bruiser
all from Salem
keep in mind that Fox and Ramsey were valuable on defense last year so I expect coaches to platoon as time goes on and get depth in and develop young players
Viante Tucker rising junior leading receiver quick 5'9" 171 as sophomore
Joseph Quinn rising Junior
Luke Owen rising junior
Vincent Pinello rising senior TE
Salem will have experience at talent at skill positions and 2 or 3 lineman that played some. The challenge will be to find lineman again to block. The JV team only lost one game by 1 point to Patrick Henry when head coach was in hospital .
Viante Tucker was 1st team all state as sophomore while Riley Fox was 1st team defense as junior in 4a . DeAngelo Ramsey should have been as sophomore and Quinn , Owen , and kicker Nate Craft are siophomores who made plays in playoffs . Pinello is 6'2' 210 who scored touchdown in playoffs against Jefferson Forest . He is very steady and dependable .
I agree and even in Roanoke the economy has been affected by railroad job losses although the Roanoke Valley economy has become much more diverse and is constantly changing . Coal I think will not get any better . The world is changing.
Salem has rising senior Noah Beckley who threw for 1800 yards in 14 games with 20 touchdowns and 4 picks . He is 6'1" 185 and has 4.5 speed . He also completed 65 percent of passes

Maybe and I will be the first to say that I thought they had Appomattox beat but my Spartans have lost big games before . The one area where Richlands really reminded me of Salem is they looked in shape . Even their big guys had little fat . I know you have seen other teams where their big guys don't look in shape. You don't see that with Richlands . Great program .
Full video . lake Taylor has approximately 9 division one players including state player of year Wayne Davis , Darnell Ewell rising senior 35 scholarship offers .
I believe Salem will start with a dual scrimmage with Brookville and Magna Vista like last year this time away and a week before season starts they again play Jefferson Forest in a benefit game . Last year in the scrimmage with Magna Vista and Brookville Magna Vista did not score but won the state championship in 3a . In the benefit game a very experienced and senior laden Jefferson Forest squad beat Salem 35-34 but lost to Salem in state semi 42-21 .
Actually I watched it on Shentel Alive Cable . The announcers were both from Appomattox and were very respectful of Richlands and very impressed as were the players and coaches as shown in the after game interviews . I was actually down East of Appomattox and picked this channel up.
Cannot believe they lost . Nothing to read into with two great teams but the Raiders did not give up but did Richlands relax . I remember drawing comparisons to Amherst at Salem in playoffs in 2006 when I felt that Salem had played a perfect game ALMOST ? wow !
