I dont understand why Abingdon, a AAA school, is in the Mountain 7. Can someone tell me?
Could have something to do with the fact that they aren’t a true AAA. They have a HUGE special ed program that boosts them over the limit of AA. Not including the special ed kids, it is a AA size school.
Abingdon received 7 black roses and a note from Richlands this morning. The note explained how the roses represent Abingdons dieing record. Good job, that note only made the players more exited to play tonight.
I agree i would not send to my son to a school that has 10 championships in football but only a 50% passing rate in academics. You will not find that very often though in SWVA. You can be the next Michael Vick but if you cant count to 10 then you will end up flipping burgers

Just for the record Richlands defense did not allow Graham or Gate City to score any TDs. Gate City scored on a kickoff return and Graham scored on a fumble returned for a TD. Good luck with THAT Falcons. ;)

If you want to play the who scored more on who game then how did VHS score 20 points on your starting D in one half and barely passed 20yds in one half against ours? Our D is much better than what they have played the first few games. But I don't need to tell you that, in 24 hours you will know..
None of the "comparisons" mean anything. The scores, how the defenses have done so far this season, it means nothing to this game. This game is about who wants it most. Both defenses will play harder than they have played all season and STILL get scored on more than they have been scored on all season. Both of these teams have only had 1-2 game(s) each that the starters played all 4 quarters so the score comparisons mean nothing. The team who toughs it out and plays with heart in Q4/OT will win this one.
I agree SWVA-football fan, the Blues haven't seen a passing game like the Falcons have

the Falcons haven't seen a defense like the Blues either.
My concern is when the Blues corners have the Falcons wideouts covered (which I think they can) Sturgill tucking the ball and running for yardage. Going to have to contain him in backfield.
I think they can too. But not all the receivers well enough at once. Abingdon doesn't just have one or two good recievers. They have a lot and one of the most accurate QBs in swva. I mean the kid threw for 441yds and 5TDs in one half last night.(that is against VHS but still) 4 different recievers had 65+ yds each. I don't think they have the players they need to cover all of Abingdons recievers. I just hope the Falcons O-line can hold their ground long enough for Sturgill to make clean throws.
I'm so exited for this game though. It will be the toughest game for both teams so far. I'm worried that the amount of people we can fit into Ernie Hicks Stadium isn't going to be enough haha.

I think the birds will be jacked up for this game and their defense will hold Richlands when they need to. Richlands hasn't been against the passing game that Abingdon has either. Go falcons!
I didn't see Richlands play VHS but I did see that game last night and Abingdons a defense shut them down. Not to mention 36 points in the first half. The starters didn't play any 2nd half so I didn't stay for it. If they play like that against Richlands they have a real shot. But I would like to hear V Cats opinion since he has seen both teams in action.
