Thoughts?  Predictions?

Without looking it up in detail here is my understanding of the transfer rule. As a student enters the ninth grade he can go to any school he wants and would be eligible to play no matter where he lives.   After he enters the ninth grade and decides to transfer, he must make a complete move to be eligible immediately. If he doesn't move he has to wait 365 days after  the transfer.   A complete move means the family must move out of their house and move into a house in the new jurisdiction.   The complete move has to be verified by both principles. Meaning the school he left verifies the complete move OUT of their residence and the new school principle verifies new residency. It looks like the VSHL has left this up to the principles of the schools so they don't have to deal with it.

 Gate city has been really spoiled with two great quarterbacks over the last eight years. Both wore number 10, I say try number 10 in this game DeAndre Mac! That was an ugly half   Can Gate City Beat Ridgeview and Battle???

 I was thinking the same thing about the third-down shot gun play! 

Richlands, graham and union will top this region.  Gate City is in trouble especially early with their schedule.  South being down may give the devils some hope early but I see a 2-8 or at best a 4-6 record for the devils.  Lee has the players to make a run but we have seen that before with little success.   Lee should win seven games but time will tell.   Wish I knew a little more about Wise central.  I really like their quarterback,  on and off the field.    Good luck to all! 

I don't see gate city quarterback competition as cut and dry as you do Larry.  Depends on what gate city's bread in butter is going to be.  Sallee wins the passing game hands down while vermillion wins the running game hands down. My two cents worth.  Akers has already made his mind up though because of the article/interview in the paper plus I'm sure he wants to keep his job.   I agree with you Larry about vermillion can be used elsewhere but he is not.  Offensively for him it's QB or nothing. On the other hand QB is the only place for Sallee.

What was everyone's take after your first look at Gate City?

 And obvious to me you don't know Bill Houseright. Hell of a man who done it the right way and would not put up with bull crap no matter who you were. 

I can say this with 100% confidence your sources are full of shit.   Those coaches done it the right way like it or not   And it's obvious to me what source you're referring to step back and look at his track record. No morals and no integrity.

Also, I may not know a ton about the X's and O's of football  but I do know a little about running a business. I know that morale can kill a business and can certainly kill a football program. And it starts from the top not the bottom as you're trying to indicate.  Your A.D. got put in his place by Bill Houseright just like he did by Coach Colobro.  With that being said the negativity that your AD has brought on by his comments  and actions is where the program has lost its support both in the community and financially.   And his best friends are on the school board. You do the math it's not hard to see. Just like a business fix the problem from the top not the bottom

OMG!  You are smoking crack.  Obviously you are out of touch from reality.  I personally know a few of the high dollar supporters and coaching is not their beef.  Use to you had a school board and superintendent who would ask what the football program needed.  Now they destroy a program because of their personal agendas.   Houseright probably didn't play your daughter enough on the basketball court too.  You got what you asked for now sit back this year and continue to blame past coaches for the nightmare you will live this year. Those kids love both Houseright and Collier and would run through a brick wall for either one of them. SMH

 Gate city's freshman class??? The football team currently has one freshman on its roster and participating in workouts! 

Lee will beat gate city this year.  Lee is big and fast.  But lee won't beat union.  It's in their head too much.  Jus sayn!

The cancer that I was referring to that is still in the school system will not allow Colobro to come back. After all, Colobro fired him back in the day.

Tim Burke, Patrick Henry and Aaron Doughtery, Grayson County are coming to Gate City to coach football. Also, Brian Gibson will be on the staff.

Sounds to me that you have some serious BH issues! You are right about one thing, Gate City's problems started and continues with a big cancer but he is still there at the school.
