Talked to some Cwood kids they are pretty fired up because they said everybody has picked them for their homecoming and they want to show them they made a mistake. So I think both teams will be fired up so its gonna come down to who has what the other cant handle, hopefully it will be a fun game and one of these teams is gonna have sole bragging rights of Russell county. Something Castlewood may never have had in football.
Well I would give my surprise team to the Cwood Bluedevils after only winning two games last season. If they can win two of the last three I might come back and give it to them.
But im gonna go with Hurley, people keep saying they havent played anybody but their 1A they dont have to worry about what any 2A school can do and there's just not many 1A thats gonna be a challenge for them until they meet PH and id say those two teams will see each other at some point.
The bust Team is got to be Ridgeview, I never was much in math but I guess this math works out, you put together 2 really good 1A programs and the math just dosent add up to 1 really good 2A program.
A few years ago I would of put Clintwood year after year up against alot of these 2A schools and they would of probably held their own but mix them with another good program in H aysi and they forget how to play.
Sick of one or two people being able to control the majority, if they dont want to hear a prayer to keep these players safe and honer God they can stick their heads back up their butts until its over. What a crying shame we keep letting a few push the world around. Fight back Hurley. My wife and I first time ever being at your field from Cwood loved everything about what your little neck of the woods represented , awesome team support, the prayer the people such a great atmosphere, if I find out it was a Castlewood parent ill probably let them have it.
Well TS had a bonfire last night until pretty late so cwood would of had done it around 12 or so. Not saying they did or didnt but thats pretty late. Just throwing something out there, it could of been anybody just trying to stoke the fire but like I said it will come out , kids cant keep their mouths shut on things like this. And Havok I didnt mean to make it sound like I didnt think it happened but I was saying as to who may have done it. It may or may not of been Cwood kids was what I was saying
These schools have definitely become big rivals and hate is probably not even to strong of a word here, it use to be Cwood and the team across the river , St.Paul. but since the closing of SP and even before TS and Cwood started getting pretty heated. I believe Cwood will take this one but its gonna be a battle thats forsure.
So Twin Springs takes Burton into OT, Burton loses to Chilhowie by one , 33-32. Chilhowie has proven to be a pretty good team by beating Tazwell and VA High and crushes Twin Springs. I know its all about matchups and how a team plays in certain weeks but just getting some thoughts and throwing a few things out there. Castlewood plays TS this friday for TS home coming, whats the thoughts on this matchup and the Cumberland? Right now Burton looks like the top dog but if Cwood was to blow out the team that took Burton to OT it could make this district pretty interesting. And please I understand these teams are not Union or Gatecity just talking football for what these teams are.
There's been alot of talk about teams on this board this year that are undefeated, Hurley, Galax, Abingdon, Richlands, but theres one that everyone has overlooked Patrick Henry. The Rebels showed alot of guts Friday night when QB Zane Seymore hooked up with WR Alex Davenport to win the game against John Battle with 14 seconds left. The Rebels are 4-0 and according to what I hear, we are number 1 in the rankings. Why arent you guys talking about them? Thats ok, Coach Palmer has us rolling and we are fine being the underdogs. I just think this team has all the right pieces to make something happen. We are playing great defense, we can throw it and run it and the added bonus our kicker isn't bad eithier. Big things are happening in Glad Spring, you heard it hear first. Go Rebels!!!
