I love white helmets. But in some situations, they don’t work. I saw Lee on the highlights Friday in their road whites and the white helmets looked great! But when they are at home, they don’t really flow well with the red and gold. Not as bad as the Darren reed helmets at Central his last year that had side decals, a center stripe and a rear decal. If lee had two sets of helmets like richlands then they would be good to go. The Gold helmets looked best I thought for Lee.

Exactly. I wonder how many arms/wrists/etc are going to get broke by players trying to adapt to hitting with their hands. I'm all for safety of players. Ran a youth program for a decade. I get it. My son broke his neck making a tackle last year. His head was up, but injuries happen. This is a bad rule. Prolly gonna cause more headache than when they put the horse collar rule in.

I'm not taking sides. Please don't take this as such. Going from the video, and based on the lame rule change, it was illegal. I screen shot the play in question but was unable to attach it. VHS player never lead with hands. Lowered shoulder. But I'm fine with it. It's football. He could have really lowered the boom on Dalton. But he clearly blocked enough to spring the ball carrier. This rule is stupid and hurting the game. Next the kids will have to set screens like basketball.

I'd love for Union to play one game a year at Riggs Stadium in Appy. My son is a senior and it would be great to see him walk down the steps one time like my dad and I did. But it is a wish.

I would imagine you are looking for the field at Sandlick elementary school, where Haysi played it's home games. Their youth teams still play there.

Unions 7/8 beat GC 38-12 Monday and Unions JV won 41-0 over GC same day.

Talent wise, Lee wins. But Rick Mullins at RV holds the edge with his coaching. I want to go with the pack based on how they played us to tough last week. But I think Lee has too much speed at the end.
