  1. Why would Ricker come to Wise? Outside of playing football at UVa-Wise he has no connection. Throw in he's from Battle and so is his wife, it makes little sense. Also, nobody has ever had long term success at Wise in football. They've ran off every good football coach they have ever had dating back to Riggs.
  2. Unless something crazy happens in the Lee/Union game, I believe the boys seeds are 1) GC 2) Union 3) Abingdon 4) Wise 5) Ridgeview 6) JSB 7) Lee
  3. Last night's win puts GC in the driver's seat. Going to be hard for someone to go in there and win.
  4. First time Union and GC met, ended up being a 4-5 point possession for GC in the second half. They won the game by one point if memory serves. Other than Wise, Union has dominated everyone else in the league.
  5. How big is David Crockett's technical foul call against Paul Huff looking now? Union would've won the regular season by virtue of the tiebreak without that fiasco.
  6. Bostic's Boys beating Fugate's Favorites should come as no surprise. If not for a phantom technical foul, Union would have won at GC and won the M7 regular season title for the third time in four years. Alas, a stripped shirt interjected themselves into the game and Fugate's Favorites won a one possession game over the Bears in GC. Union still really only has itself to blame, allowing Wise to play slow down 1940's basketball against them has burned them every time they have played. Kudos to Donnie Jordan and Isaiah McAmis for mucking it up when those two play. Outside of Ethan Collins those two are the Real MVPs of the Warriors this season. Playoffs will be fun...
  7. How many transfers do JIB and Central have? Between the boys and girls programs at those two schools, they could make a starting five unit for other teams.
  8. 3-0 in the district! Bostic's Boys keep rolling!!
  9. At this point Bostic’s Boys are a contender. No joke here, @BigWinners probably not old enough to remember when Bostic played. It’s obvious he’s taught these guys how to shoot!
  10. It’s going to be between him and Fugate. First year coaches duking it out. Union is shooting 3’s much better! Reminds me of Bostic’s Haysi stroke!
  11. 5-0! A sign of a great program is winning with multiple coaches and he’s picked up where Moore left off. Early leader for coach of the year!
  12. Home and Union got some home cooking. No exaggeration, I bet one ref called 15 fouls alone on Honaker.
  13. Bears win another close one, 41-38 over Honaker. Wasn't very pretty basketball but a W is a W. Union was able to get out in transition just enough to win. Bears have a serious rebounding problem, when the younger Anderson went out with foul trouble tonight, Honaker took control of the game inside. Union is going to have to get more rebounding out of it's guards.
  14. Honneycutt was out with injury more than in and while great on D was an offensive liability last yr. New coach, yes but they returned basically the entire team.
  15. Union returned all 5 starters. Not sure why people were/are down on them. Outside of Abingdon, they beat everyone last year in the M7.
