<font color="800000"> Unless you have good, solid evidence other than "so and so's" word, I suggest you quit making accusations and false claims. Your "conspiracy theory" is a crock of you know what. It seems like everytime PV, or other schools from that part of the state lose to Gate City, someone screams bloody murder over incorrect enrollment numbers. The numbers ARE correct, no one "adjusts" them for athletic purposes. The only reason you are doing this is because you are a sad individual who is trying to find any excuse he can to blame his team's loss on other than the fact that they were beaten by a better team. PV's days of "dominating" small schools is over...you finally have a school your size, in your district, and you can't beat them. </font>

Yep, I remember her! All she ever did was give the game time and say "on a rolling clock". We definitely need some new announcers.

<font color="800000">The numbers ARE correct for classification purposes...they only count three grades NOT four. Why would a school lie about enrollment, especially on the low side, when the money they receive from the state is determined by the number of students they have in the school? As for why Graham doesn't play Powell Valley...I don't have to ask Coach Carlock why...I know the answer...we DON'T play Class A schools...period! We played Gate City for years during the regular season and dropped them off the schedule when they dropped down. Why should we hurt ourselves by playing teams in a lower class? We could if we wanted to but we don't...that's why you've seen schools like Tennessee High, Elizabethton, Greenville, Woodrow Wilson, G.W.-Danville, and Blacksburg on our schedule. If PV really wants to play Graham, step up to AA and I'm sure Coach Carlock would immediately put you on the schedule! </font>

<font color="800000">The part that really turned me off Saturday was when NASCAR became the topic of discussion and then they started making fun of a Martinsville player's name. They turned the kids name into a bad joke...not sure what his first name was but his last name was Long. One of the announcers pronounced it "you are"...as in "you are long"...the other announcer goes "well thank you"...then that started laughing like pre-teen children. During this time, they never once mentioned anything about the game...what happened on the play, how much time was left, what yard-line the ball was on, and so on. I was completely lost for about 10 minutes or so and had no idea which team even had the ball at one point. The really sad part is the lead announcer is the head man at the radio station so you know nothing will be done to correct this situation since he was the one doing it. If I were a sponsor, I would definitely let them know how disappointed I was in their attempt at broadcasting. No, I don't think I'm being to critical on these guys since it is only a high school game but it is sad, immature, and unprofessional...the fans and the sponsors deserve much more than this! </font>

<font color="800000"> Gate City's enrollment is only higher than Graham's of the schools you mentioned. The reason Graham is still in AA is because they choose to play up. Graham has been a Class A size school for many years but has continued to play at the AA level. Gate City did the same for many years until they decided to play in the Class in which their enrollment placed them. You, being from Powell Valley, really don't have much room to talk or complain. PV's enrollment is HIGHER than Graham's...why don't they play AA? </font>

<font color="800000">There has been a steady light rain falling in Bluefield since 5:30 AM this morning. Radar shows rain stretching back into Kentucky and moving west to east. Light showers could become moderate to heavy later in the day. Current temps are in the upper 30s...it has warmed up about 10 degrees since last night around 10 PM. High temperatures today are forecast to reach the low 40s. The NWS has also stated there is a potential for freezing rain in some of the deeper, sheltered valleys.

<font color="800000"> Bluefield didn't get Lee on their schedule until LATE, just before schedules were due at the WVSSAC. They only had eight games at the time and were desperately looking for anyone, from anywhere. The round-robin format between the SWD and the HD was discussed and agreed upon at the Spring Region meeting a year earlier. That was also the same meeting that they discussed combining the two districts. Lee was the one who "opted out" of the agreement.</font>

<font color="800000">What I don't get though is they refused to schedule Graham this year due to travel yet they scheduled Bluefield...go figure!!! Anyway, I'm glad Graham didn't play them...beating up on a weak team doesn't earn many VHSL rating points! </font>

<font color="800000">My point was the teams from the Piedmont are the teams from the "east" we are concerned with right now. If we take care of those teams, we'll worry about teams "further east" from the Dogwood, Seminole, and River Ridge Districts.
