Why Carroll over tazwell so heavily?? I have heard that Carroll may be at the bottom of the district. Also, this may be the year that Giles beats Blacksburg.

How did Giles' defense look?? Did their team have much speed?? I understand their best back was not in action due to an ankle sprain. How was the rest of their backs?? Hope your boys have a great season!!

Floyd seemed to have their way for the most part. Marion had a good run for about 50 yards. Their qb showed some athletic ability. Floyd's defense shut them out. Marion fumbled 6+ times. Floyd scored three tds which means nothing in a scrimmage format. Floyd has big size and they also let out some tough hits. They ran the ball very well and their pasing game showed it was the first scrimmage. Floyd will proably keep the ball on the ground and win with their defense. It's hard to give specifics about Marion because they did not wear #s on their jersy. Marion is proably average at best. Floyd showed the potential to go deep this season. However, it is still early!!

Trey Mitchell from Radford has tied Shane Graham for a single season state record with 16 field goals. He has 2 from 50+. A severe weapon. I live about 35 minutes from the field and if the wind continues to blow like this...both kickers would be lucky to even hit an extra point.
