  1.     - - Round 3 - Thanksgiving weekend - -
       2A West
    #6 Richlands (9-3) @ #2 Gate City (10-2)
    #4 Glenvar (11-1) @ #1 Giles (12-0)

                2A East

    #9 King William (10-2) @ #5 Nottoway (10-2)
    #6 Brunswick (9-3) @ #2 Wilson Memorial (11-1)

So, what if Richlands and Giles win in the West and Brunswick and King William win in the East?

There would be a 1 and 6 seed in the West and a 6 and 9 seed in the East.

I would assume #1 Giles would host #9 King William, but who would host the game between #6 Richlands and #6 Brunswick?

  2. If the Braves win one game with their series against the Cards, they will have won a the season series with what looks to be the 4 other teams who will make the NL playoffs (Reds, Cards, Pirates & Dodgers).

The Braves have also swept 3 of those 4 teams (Cards, Pirates and Dodgers). To be fair, we swept the Dodgers in May before they started getting hot, but still not bad.

  3. http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/05/09/18143580-two-passengers-vanish-from-carnival-cruise-ship?lite

Seriously, how much more can happen with Carnival cruises? At least this wasn't a major ship malfunction or something along those lines....but still tragic nonetheless.

Carnival has had a ton of bad press lately, some of it deserved, some of it not; however, Carnival does not deserve the bad press for this. I have been on several cruise ships, and I assure you it would be impossible to "accidentally" fall over board. You would either have to be pushed, jump, or be very careless and stupid to go overboard.

  4. Would we go to a 6 man rotation when Beachy returns? Him, Huddy, Maholm, JT, Minor and Medlen?

I think it will depend on how JT looks when Beachy returns. He is probably the biggest ? in the rotation, but he looked really solid after the second inning of his last start in DC. That is also assuming everyone else stays healthy.

  5. haven't heard yet, but what is the schedule for McCann's return? I bet they keep him at AA for a while to "rehab" haha.

Man Gattis is just on fire...unreal.

Oh..about to sweep the Nads and go to 11-1 in style...9-0 with the bottom of the order up next in the bottom of the 8th.

You can tell Gattis used to be a janitor...

...because the Nats just got swept!

  6. They weren't raised together. They were already full grown and brought in together while being raised by different owners elsewhere. The wolf hybrid I think was a rescue if I remember correctly. They both get along fine with each other. The Dane seems to be more leery of me than the wolf when I've been around them which has only been a couple of times.

    Gotcha.

  7.

I know of a wolf hybrid that is more docile to be around than a Great Dane that he lives with and both are house dogs. The Dane is quicker to snap at me being in the house than the wolf hybrid is. I can only speak for my experiences and I've experienced being snapped at by Chihuahua and a small Poodle before.

If both of these dogs live in that same environment and were raised by the same owner, wouldn't that put a hole on your theory that the environment is what determines if the dog is good or bad?

To be honest, I think it is a little of both the environment and breed. Some breeds are definitely more prone to being "mean", but then again you can probably train any dog to me mean or nice.

  8. I don't think that salesman knew what was happening. I assume the dealership did, but not so much the salesman.

Really? That was some terrible acting. I wasnt buying for one second that the "salesman" was not in on the "prank".

Plus the aftermarket cup-holder clipped on the vents that you would normally only find in a semi-truck...it just happened to be perfectly placed so his Pepsi Max could record the salesman. Oh, and not one shot of Gordon actually driving the car. It was certainly a stunt driver and the salesman knew exactly what was happening.

As Bama said, there is no way this is real.

  9. I can't find anywhere around here that rents 15 passenger vans. I've looked for days with no results.

Enterprise at Claypool Hill can get 15-passenger vans. They usually don't have them on site but can get them from other locations. I have rented them from there on several occasions for work. In fact I am renting one from there this weekend.

And I would imagine that insurance coverage would be an issue for most churches. I think you're best/only option would be a car rental place. Also, some places you have to be 25 before you can rent a car and others they charge and extra fee if you are under 25. Not sure if the policy would be different for a 15-passenger van.

EDIT: Just looking at the Enterprise website and they say that they do have 15-passenger vans and you need to call for availability. It also says that they are age restricted to 25 or over. Just an FYI.

  10. Their Son was arrested and charged with 2 counts of Capital Murder yesterday.

    http://www.wvva.com/story/21195178/2013/02/14/arrest-made-in-2009-pizza-plus-slaying

TAZEWELL, VA. (WVVA)--- The son of the victims in 2009's Pizza Plus slayings has been arrested and charged with his parents' murder.

Christopher Dean Looney, 32, of the Belfast area of Russell County, was arrested Wednesday and charged with two counts of capital murder.

Police say Christopher murdered his parents, 52-year-old Harvey and 48-year-old Valerie Looney in March of 2009 at the Pizza Plus in Claypool Hill where they worked.

Christopher was the Looneys' only child. He was arraigned Thursday morning.

The arrest was announced during a news conference held Thursday morning at the Tazewell County Sheriff's Office.

In making the announcement, Police Chief Brian Hieatt said the department had never given up on the case.

The four-year anniversary of the murders is next month.

  11. Why not its the same lame ass tactic the progressives have been doing for years.

Or do you just find it "dumb " when conservatives do it?

Nope, I find it dumb when anyone does it. But you are probably the worst offender I have seen, and not just in this thread.

Legend summed it up pretty nicely so there isn't much more I can add.
