  1. lets see scott allen former lebanon player steps down from his coaching job in abingdon, a few weeks later henley steps down to accept a new job, all the stars must be alligned in scott's favor, both gave the excuse to spend more time with their family, whoever the new coach is i hope they are good at seeing the potential these new kids have, and also not use henley's (run it up the middle playbook).
  2. just seems to be more than a coincidence that the pres. announced the bid turn down as soon as the loss to tech happened.
  3. forgot to write something the other day, has anyone (including henly) overlooked how fast lebanon tied up the ball game at the end? 45secs left 4th quarter and how did they get to the end zone? majority was passing. I guess it's time i shut up on this, but when people that did'nt get to watch the game come up to me and ask why lebanon lost it gets me all stirred up again.
  4. its the champs sports bowl in orlando on dec 21, it replaced the tangerine bowl.
  5. bristol paper reported today the uva turned down a bid on the champs bowl, pres. said they would not play in a game that was going to conflict thier final exams. I don't know how to feel about this one, i really respect uva for this, by sending a message to students that academics is still more important than sports, not all of these college players are going to go pro like they might think they are. On the other hand, these guys have worked hard and deserve to play in a good bowl, i look at the schedule and only thing left is like a bowl game in boise idaho. maybe north carolina would like to switch with the cavaliers. I'll leave this with one huge question Mr. President if virginia came in first in the ACC and to play in a BCS bowl, would your decision still be the same? think about that. GO HOOS, GO 89
  6. glad you clarified your not miller, but you had us wondering
  7. anyone heard where he is or how his basketball career is doing,? i spoke with him a few years ago, he said he was doing pretty good over seas playing, but can't jump like he used to, don't guess any of us can after a few years.
  8. a few weeks ago i made a post on lebanons coaching calls, i have always questioned some of them, but i guess sometimes that is what fans do, i just got done doing the same thing in the VT and UVA game. But if your tearing a team apart throwing the ball and your receivers are catching almost anything, you have to do more of it. (but again I'm not a coach) great job to both teams and a great show of sportsmanship, a good hard played game I'm sure all of you will feel it in the morning. BEAT PV
  9. all the players should be proud, there were some wild plays in the game, wish zach could have got to throw the ball some more? the receivers were doing so good, can't figure out the coaching sometimes, but maybe thats why i'm not a coach, had to sit on the giles side and pull for lebanon, usually thats kind of intimidating, but the giles fans are real good people and love thier team to, they showed good sportsmanship, now this weeks (barnburner) is over with go beat PV.........
  10. yeah, i taped it and dared anyone to tell me the score, but NO THANKS to the announcer at the lebanon game, he called out the score everytime it changed.
  11. just wanted to take a moment to say how much i enjoy hearing, and watching the richland's band. i usually only get to see them when richlands plays lebanon, but the band did a great job at the honaker parade monday night. they looked very professional, unlike some of the spectators that i had to stand around who were yelling and acting like drunkened idiots, great job band on keeping your cool and focusing on the job at hand.
  12. another good reason not to serve beer at sporting events, god knows how many beers the fans drink before they get there, beer is not the only reason for the fight but it did'nt help any. i hope they review the films and stick it to the fans as well as some of the mult- overpaid millionaire players, and take the fines and donate the money to some good charity for children,
  13. well, maryland no problem, maryland players had slick hands and could'nt hold on to the ball, (probably helping reigen eat chicken) uva can beat tech if hagans is on top of the game, and punter can kick further than 20 yards, put anyone you want on miller, he'll get around them (remember last year?) DEC 6 VT FANS BETTER TAKE SOME HURRICANE STRAPS, IVAN WAS'NT NOTHING, THIS HURRICANE WILL BLOW THE FEATHERS OFF YOUR TURKEY, GORE WILL GORE THE DEFENSE AND HE'S GOING TO BE EATING TURKEY ALL WEEK, TURKEY SEASON IS IN AND MIAMI HAS THERE HUNTING LICENSE.
  14. lebanon has a top secret play,(run it up the middle), it does'nt take a rocket scientist to fiqure out what the next call will be. it irritates me as well as the other lebanon fans sitting in the stands. there is a time to run up the middle and time to pass. hint( 3 and inches) unlike the GW game when lebanon was 4 and 12 in the red zone and the call was to run. can the coach or coaches not see the QB and recievers were connecting good that night. sure mix it up but bring out what works when you need it, running up the middle 90% of the time is easy to fiqure out, the players are great athletes and make up for the bad coaching, and brought home a win, I'm proud of the lebanon players at the richlands game they struggled through some of the bad coaching and gave it their best.
