  1. Sounds like this one went all the way down to the wire! No shame in losing on PKs!
  2. ...anybody get to watch???
  3. About as ready as I'll ever be I guess! Really looking forward to it!
  4. ...anybody catch the Chicago Fire @ Toronto FC yesterday? Toronto FC scored the first goal in team history (finally), received the first red card in team history, and the first win in team history (3-1). But besides that it was an awesome game with amazing atmosphere. The crowd was singing "All we are saying is give us a goal" to the tune of John Lennon's "Give Peace A Chance". Free promotional seat cushions were given out at the start of the game, almost all of which ended up on the pitch every time TFC scored. It was a real European atmosphere in MLS. Just wondered if anyone else saw this match.
  5. Outstanding! Absolutely outstanding! Who knew anyone at CC had any skill?
  6. That's what makes the sport great (among other things). It's the most democratic sport on the planet, nothing is guaranteed.
  7. PJ! PJ! PJ! Dude! Now that's skill! Keep it up bud!
  8. yeah, they played. i talked to CC coach while they were on their way. sorry, i don't have news about the outcome, though.
  9. ... won the English Premiership Title Saturday with a 1-0 win over Man City coupled with Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Arsenal at Emirates Stadium (sorry VT Keep). Unrelated to that (but it made smile all the same), Clint Dempsey (USA) scored the winner for Fulham FC over Liverpool! USA! USA!
  10. [ QUOTE ] The M*A*S*H final episode holds the United States record percentage of viewers. [/ QUOTE ] Actually I'm pretty sure it was the moon landing... or the CCHS game.
  11. Game in Columbus to be aired at 8:30 p.m. ET following NBA Playoff action Washington, D.C. - D.C. United today announced plans to honor and support victims of last week's shootings on the campus of Virginia Tech. United, playing its first game since the tragic events, will wear maroon jerseys adorned with a Virginia Tech emblem when the club travels to play the Columbus Crew on Saturday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m. Comcast SportsNet will broadcast that match at 8:30 p.m. ET, upon completion of the Washington Wizards-Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Playoff game. Game-worn jerseys will be auctioned at www.dcunited.com next week, with full proceeds being donated to the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund, a university-developed charity benefiting victims and their families. "With several staff members intimately involved with the university and given the close proximity of the Virginia Tech campus to Washington, D.C., we felt acutely motivated to act in support of this cause," said United Executive Vice President Stephen Zack. "Our club sends our deepest sympathy to the victims and their families, the university at large, and the town of Blacksburg." D.C. United has contacted the local Virginia Tech Alumni Association and is seeking methods to continue to assist the university in its time of need. United fans are encouraged to visit www.vt.edu for more information on the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund, other individual funds and alternative ways to support and provide for those affected. www.soccernet.com
  12. Columbus Crew - Frankie Hejduk, Ezra Hendrickson, Eddie Gaven, Andy Herron, Kei Kamara, Stefani Miglioranzi, Joseph Ngwenya, Danny O'Rourke, Rusty Pierce, Ricardo Virtuoso, Robert Warzycha, Head Coach Sigi Schmid Kansas City Wizards - Davy Arnaud, Jose Burciaga Jr., Kevin Hartman, Jack Jewsbury, Yura Movsisyan, Ryan Pore, Ryan Raybould Could've had Kerry Zavagnin's autograph but he got into the locker room before I could get him. It was fun, wish you guys could have made it!
  13. I got autographs from half of both the teams!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Columbus Crew - 1 WFU - 0 I GOT TO MEET FRANKIE HEJDUK AND SIGI SCHMID!!!!!!!!!!!! Frankie is so cool and such a nice guy... Coach Schmid looked like an upset soccer coach, so all I got was a "hello". Still it was (expletive of your choice) awesome!!!! *sigh* For anyone that doesn't know who Frankie Hejduk is here's a link. http://columbus.crew.mlsnet.com/players/...tatType=current
  15. SWD - Jaime Moreno Highlands - Kris Boyd Piedmont - Didier Drogba
  16. Same here... Nah, I guess I'll be screaming for the Demon Deacons in game 1, then the Crew in game 2.
  17. Man oh man, I remember the days when the score looked like CCHS -10 or 13 vs Floyd - 0. Those were the days.
  18. Yeah Klinsmann was my pick for the new coach, too. I mean he lives in LA for crying out loud. That's okay, though. Bradley is only the 2nd coach in US history to win his first 2 games in charge (not sure if he's set some sort of record with the third W).
  19. USA already has a coach: Bob Bradley. The man's done an incredible job. Not the guy I was hoping for the job, but you can't argue w/ results. Bob used to be Bruce's assistant at DC United for the first two MLS seasons until he took the head coach position at Chicago in 1998 (his team beat DC 2-0 in the MLS cup that year ).
  20. WOOHOO!!! DC beat the Red Bulls 4-3 clinching the eastern division title!!!!
