  1. I don't think our draw is that bad either. I just don't think the Czech Republic is that good. Who do they really have, Baros and Smicer? they are no good. Ok, they have Petr Cech, that's IT. The worst part about the draw is that even if we do finish second in our group, we would play the winners of the group with Brazil in it...
  2. I wouldn't get too excited about our friendlies. All leagues with any good players at all are still playing. 5-0 vs. Norway? Yeah, sure, without John Arne Riise...
  3. With all my heart, Richlands. Why?, because we are invincible! We have a transfer student from Brazil, and some have compared him to Ronaldinho. I know one man doesn't make a team, but it DOES in this case. Sorry Graham, your Voltron has crumbled
  4. Yet again, carroll fans/players/coach seem to be misinterpret what Graham is saying, No one is denying that the Goals of the freekicks were a great displays of football, and yes, i was there and there WAS a handball, and it WAS outside the box, no question about that, but in no way was it intentional. If anything, I can recall that CC should have had a penalty Much earlier when a Graham Defender had a hand ball in the box with his hand above his head!! I didn't like the calls either way, CC didn't deserve their yellow card at all, I was mad at that call. CC won and that's football, but i would be suprised if anyone can honestly say that the ref had no effect on the outcome of a game. [ QUOTE ] if everyone would just play soccer to their fullest and if all the teams are as good as they say they are, the game shouldn't be decided by one or 2 lousy calls. [/ QUOTE ] yet AGAIN, some people miss the point, the point is that CC and Graham are VERY close teams, and they are almost even, but it should not be up to a official to decide who the better team is.
  5. Let me take this opportunity to quote carrollfan [ QUOTE ] Does anyone else think carrollfan is their Coach Marion?, and does anyone think that Coach Marion is gay? [/ QUOTE ] I think that this is a little uncalled for! especially if you are a "carrollfan." The other day, while I was hiding in a mailbox, I overheard CC coach talking to a friend, and i believe the truth MUST be HEARD!! so here it goes, and i quote! [ QUOTE ] Haha, yeah, we really showed those Graham clowns how we do it in Carroll County. They are probably still crying over it. Let me tell you a secret my friend, I payed off the refs so that we would win, so I was never worried about the outcome. I told them to not make it too obvious, and it is a good thing that they aren't any more incompetent, because they almost made it clear. I couldn't be happier that I had to throw the game in order to win. [/ QUOTE ] I'm saddened by this display of sportsmanship and hope that both sides will stop quarrelling over what is in the past!!
  6. Well, I would have to say that Graham's Varstiy team played well considering that they were missing 7 starters. About the tourney, I think that Richlands played Graham well, and if we had Skippy, we would have KILLED them!!!, no question. This is just a rumor that i heard, but someone told me that Skippy is being recruited to play Division I soccer next year!, which says a lot about Southwest VA soccer! And if it wasn't for that IDIOT defender in the Graham/Carroll game, Graham would have won easily. That guy should quit soccer or something.
  7. [ QUOTE ] 3. Change of Pace. Change of pace is the key to going by a player on the dribble. You don't necessarily need to be extremely fast to beat someone on the dribble, you need to lull the defender to sleep for a second and then break past the opponent with a burst of speed. [/ QUOTE ] Dang....I think that this is VERY important. You don't need fancy moves, no stepovers, james's, or nutmegs, just a quick burst of speed and maybe a quick change in direction will almost always to the trick. Dang, Skippy is the best example, he could do it so well!
  8. Did anyone else notice anything familiar when they saw Ronaldinhos AMAZING goal. I don't know if you guys remember, but it reminds me of a goal Skippy scored a few years back vs. Graham. Dang, it was like deja vu for me!!
  9. Well, Graham has never beat Richlands.....right??, that is what one of my friends from Richlands told me. It sounds like it could be true. About the game coming up though, a Richlands without Skippy might get their 1st loss.
  10. So after 5 pages of ranting, who really is the top 5 players in the SWD? If only Skippy and Breedlove could've stayed one more year...they'd be State material together along with our main-spirited guys...
  11. Wasn't Gardner a Sweeper and Capt. last year? What does Bachara play?
  12. I don't know but, I think that Richland's Coach was pretty good. I mean, from what i've heard, he taught skippy everything he knew!, and that is pretty impresive i think. Of course, my opinion is a "little" biased.
  13. Yeah! I heard that Graham lost most of their starters too. Belcher, Blaine, Alb, Peg, Tibbs, Ryan Williams, Jonathan, Lance, and Evan Garcia isn't playing this year, so their JV team is going to have to step up. I know that Graham's JV team wasn't very immpressive last year but I was in Bluefield the other day and saw them practicing. They looked pretty good, so everyone should watch out!
  14. Dang...Does anyone remember who was all state last year? Who do you guys think it should have been?, I figure either Skippy or Breedlove, or both. These guys had a perfect relationship with a soccer ball. I mean, with Skippy, its like the ball just obeyed his every thought.
