  3. I talked to the boys after they game and they always love playing on turf, that's one reason they wanted to schedule Honaker this year, but I didn't see it make a hugh difference. Our yardage, etc was pretty much average with what it has been all year. 1st qtr they were slow but everyone was worried about Jaycob. May have been a different game if they had their heads in it a little more.
  4. Sportmanship was great, I was really happy to see both teams act like grown men. Also, everyone from Honaker was so nice. Made several trips to the concession stand for coffee and there was always somebody wanting to talk football. I had a great time
  5. Coleman will be out for the rest of the season & also basketball season. Another trip to the doctor determined that his tendons and ligaments are torn. He will be having surgery next week. Hunnicutt was diagnosed with a type 3 concussion and mild brain trauma. He will be out at least 2-3 weeks and possibly thru the playoffs. Please keep both in your prayers. Three players were injured at Honaker last night but all three stayed in the game.
  6. [ QUOTE ] is one of those caudill boys nicknamed "horsecollar"? [/ QUOTE ]. I don't know we always call them Caudill 1 & Caudill 2. Much easier than trying to remember names.

    PV / Kelly

This game is do or die for the Vikes. Kelly is in their region, division and district, and as it stands now Kelly is in the top 10 for D2 and PV is not. If PV loses, they won't make the playoffs.
  8. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Coleman is not our best player...he's one of the best but the offense can move around his absence without a problem. They still have Sensabaugh, Talley, the Miles brothers, the Caudill brothers, and Rice to run/catch the ball. Burton's offense is designed to run several players in & out so one gone does not cause a huge problem. Stewart also keeps the ball a lot for QB keepers. Coleman missing on defense may cause a small problem. He played LB so they will move a senior who played LB last year into that spot from DE spot and slide in second string DE to take his place. Lots of kids with experience on both sides of the ball, Burton will be fine. [/ QUOTE ] coleman is the only player on burton's team who will play college football.......and yes, he is your best overall player on both sides of the ball. [/ QUOTE ] I don't think Coleman is the only one who will play college ball. I know for a fact that two other seniors have already had colleges make inquiries and one went so far as to request two years worth of film to show the athletic board for one other senior. Burton will be alright, IMHO.
  9. [ QUOTE ] Will Coleman be back for the Clintwood game? [/ QUOTE ] Coleman should be back for the C-wood game. Last I heard it's mainly just an extra weeks rest for the tendons and ligaments.

  11. Where do you get that Jimbo doesn't have control of his program? Those boys work hard every day. They have a list of rules 9 miles long and if they don't follow them they are benched. If you watched the Rye Cove game you would have seen a starter on the bench the first 10 minutes, that's because he was 10 minutes late for practice. (the rule is, you take away my practice time, I take away your playing time). They have curfews and coaches call the players (at home, not cells) to talk to them and make sure they are home. If they receive disciplinary action at school they are benched. Grades are monitored by an independent person to make sure they are all making the required grades. Jimbo will not lie for them, cover for them, or take the blame for them when they are in the wrong. What more can a kid's coach do?
