I never said it wasn`t a dirty play. All I said was the shortstop had no business doing what he did. I can not believe you would condone that kind of behavior.

I agree totally and he is getting punished for that. It is not justifiable for the shortstop to push the guy down after that had occured. People can talk about a family team out there all they want to but he was totally out of line pushing him.

I always enjoy going to Mitchell Stadium. The view is awesome.

I can understand that you are blinded because you are from Tazewell. I finally heard the whole story. You cant complain if the boy from Tazewell was in the baseline. The boy from Marion shouldn`t have thrown the elbow or ran his mouth (if he did). The shortstop from Tazewell shouldn`t have pushed Tyler down by no means, jawing or not. I`m a Canes fan but I actually look at both sides of the game.

I just heard the same story from a guy here at work today. Hopefully the boy will be suspended off the team for a few games. There is no call for that kind of behavior.

We will keep him in our thoughts and prayers. That is the only Marion football game that I missed last season. I have heard great things about the young man.

Yeah, something has to be done in the youth leagues around here for the girls...develop them earlier. I disagree with that statement. The same thing is being done now that was being done 10-15 years ago in the rec. league. It all comes down to coaching at the high school level. Look at some of the teams that Davidson had. Marion had 5 wins this year in girls varsity, that is crazy. Do you actually think if Davidson was still the head coach the girls would have only had 5 wins this year? I do not think so. Two of the girls on the varsity team this year have played AAU basketball for quite some time. I just know the results can be much better than they have been in the past several years.

It is sad to see where the girls program has gone im Marion over the last ten years. I graduated 11 years ago when the girls went deep in the tournaments year in and year out.

I can`t wait for football season. Mike Briscoe is a good guy and I look for good things with him as head coach. Go Canes!!
