GC will be well prepared, the only factors I believe will be the rust factor, since GC hasn't played for almost a month and rumors that Robbin's will let Pinkston back on the team to try to make a difference. Also with Robbin's video comments after the last meeting, saying basically GC wasn't that good and the Vikings had an off night will definately be a factor. Look for GC to be chomping at the bit and coming away with the win.

Both Richlands and GC players, coaches and fans alike, knew it would be a hard fought game, as it usually always is. Both teams are young with very few seniors and will have many good games between them before they graduate. GC is just trying to get back to what GC football is all about. Richlands only needs to look back to last year. Sure they lost the season opener in Gate City, but went on to have a really good season. They play each other to win of course, but to get better and see where their weaknesses are going forward. The only problem with two perenial powerhouses playing each other out of the gate is to make it thru it without getting anyone hurt and beat up to bad. Other than some bruises and soreness, I think both teams came of the game relatively unscathed. Good luck to the Blues and Devils the rest of the way and I believe the game will be a win for both squads.

Several kids in our area have been hurt playing on the new field turf. I've heard Richland's has this now as well, so hopefully the Devils as well as Richlands come out of the game healthy. It will be a hard hitting contest as usuall, but with all the new transfers Richlands has received this year, I just hope the Devils can give them a good game.

As for DB's band, they are second to none. Phenominal with the amount of kids they have involved in a high school band. The volume alone will get your attention.

GC has tried to setup a series with DB in the past, but its sortof like the Va Tech vs UT Vol scenario. DB would have everything to lose. We've played them in other sports in recent years and have won most. Most local fans would love to see this matchup in football. We used to start of every year playing Tenn. High but when they got a new coach, he said he didn't won't to start of the year with a loss. Now they have DB first so not much has changed there.
