both teams 0-2 Botty lost to James River 13-9 and Salem 18-13 Hidden Valley lost to Patrick Henry 35-7 and William Byrd 25-0 . Both teams struggling offensively .

Carrol county must limit opportunities for Christiansburg through ball control running and short passing-the only chance they have is to control tempo!

Blacksburg beat Giles 30-7 Lost to Liberty 47-17 in a game that was 17-14 at half . Blacksburg may surprise somebody before it is over . Hidden Valley lost to Patrick Henry 35-7 lost to William Byrd 25-0 have only scored 7 points have issues offensively , especially after losing QB Pulaski County lost to Radford 29-32 lost to Northside 7-27 still giving up a lot of points and could not move the ball hardly at all against Northside . Pulaski had 19 yards rushing and 33 yards passing for the game . Salem wanted to commit suicide against Botetourt with five fumbles , 2 more turnovers on special teams , 3 missed extra points , 1 blocked , and numerous penalties but still managed to win 18-13 . This was a first game for Salem and they hopefully have got over the first game , because if they would have played next weeks opponent , Franklin County , they would have been slaughtered . I must say , I have never seen a more mistake happening game than this one . Cave Spring beat Staunton River 41-21 beat Graham 47-14 Cave will get a massive test next week against Northside . Christiansburg beat Floyd 40-12 beat Giles 35-0 beat 2 average single a teams - Carroll and Bassett and then Patrick Henry will give a little more test but Christiansburg is the front runner right now . Look for teams to test their mettle up the gut because the blue Demons are quick but small .

Bassett looked good during scrimmages . Most people thought an easier victory against Carroll was to be . Turnovers helped the Cavs in an upset bid . Patrick Henry played at home against Hidden Valley in the start of Brad Bradley's second year with the division 6 Patriots . The Patriots had a rough first year . The Titans led 7-0 at halftime and then the Patriots erupted for 35 in the second half , blowing out the Titans 35-7 . The Titans are starting a very young QB after starter Simonic lost for season . Who will win this game ?

If they do not beat Radford their next 4 games are last years division 3 state champion Northside , Preseason western Valley pick Patrick Henry , Preseason No. 2 pick William Fleming , and then division 4 runnerup Amherst County . If they do not beta Radford , who I understand will be very good , Does anybody see a win in there possibly ?

Are all swva schools so sensitive ? If you read my original post I was actually boasting about Richlands and the little schools that Richlands plays ! School system failures !

I did not have to be there they did not play anybody . Graham has not been good since Carter was president and George Wythe is single a . Grow up kids - ok Richlands could beat Oscar Smith!

Glenvar will be highly improved . They will be strong on the line , very strong for a single a team . Of course their competition will not come until district because their out of district schedule is weak . They could make the playoffs and that is saying a lot because of their situation and the relative strength of that region . Their coach Kevin Clifford has been making changes that will result in long term success . Their lineman have worked hard . one of their lineman benched 320 , squats 530 and cleaned 275 . First of all , based upon what you said , Richlands got a little practice but really did not show anything because they were not challenged . They played a small aa team soon to go to single a graham . a single a team George Wythe , and a Hidden Valley team that has to replace most of their offense . Also, it was a early season scrimmage . Those teams with most question marks will try more things . Richlands was supposed to look more impressive than these teams and they did . This is not an indictment against Richlands but , in fact , a reality that under Greg Mance Richlands down years other teams would be proud of . Let them look this impressive against Christiansburg in a scrimmage and maybe I would get excited . My earlier observations of Richlands 2010 version were to say the Blue Tornadoes will be among top two in region 4 among division 3 , with Cave Spring the only team that May have a chance . Their competition will not come until Cave Spring and then possibly after that in region 3 . that is not to say they will not have challenges during the season with a very good single a team a la Gate City or a Powell Valley and not an indictment against this scrimmage because you still have to line up and practice . A lot of times in scrimmages you do not know how good your competition will be or how much you will improve .
