Let me make it simple! WE DONT CARE ABOUT THE FALCONS! They are sitting at home and we are handling our business. God, I mean some of you cant get your head out of that birds a_ _! Let us enjoy our win! We could care less if we play you guys or not. You'all should beat us, I mean you are the largest school in the county! Whats going to be your excuse when we shock everyone and become region champs, if not state champs? We are making things happen and to be honest the county ought to spend their money on our program and facilities, at least we are winning. I'm going to be proposing that to our school board member. So enough with the whinning about your falcons.

It is time for everyone to recognize that We Are For Real! I want to congratulate Coach Matlock and our boys for a job well done. Its time for the rest of you to stand up and give us some props! We've EARNED it!

Great Post! In addition to this, he is positive with his players and they respond. The previous coach was constantly negative and showed favoritism. They didn't respond. Coach Matlock has been upbeat and positive; it has made all the difference. His players would go through a wall for him and so would I!

Why is everyone so afraid of the State Semi's? Its why you play the game.

One thing is certain Matlock is not interested. He has a chance at winning state this year and if not, this year, we do next year for sure. No chance would he leave here.

Scary moment by far was when Jordan was carried off at wytheville or on a lighter note when Meff did his antics against Castlewood for the 2 point conversion - haha, they still don't know what was going on. I like RR in this one, they run the ball well and play good D. Ph didn't impress me when they came to Damascus. I like the Indians.

Wouldn't it be "undo" rather than "undue"? I don't know, but I do know that technology adds to the pressure, look kids can access information at a drop of a hat, take this board for instance, we have guys like cowboy who like to rowl up the crowd because of the lack of winning by his team. So he vents on here and my kids see it and feel the pressure to perform to defend me. Undo pressure is right! I'm sorry but I have to get off here for the day my blood is boiling!!

I can tell you are a well-educated person (probably an economics major). I'm not, I've worked hard for everything I have. I wouldn't have anything if there wasn't some governmental assistance in my early years. I'll admit, I've benefitted from welfare, but am no longer in need of it. Because of those programs, my children can enjoy a middle class life. Thats what Obama wants to do, is elevate the middle class and even out the playing field. How can you go against that Mr. Frontier? If my history is correct, the Frontier was about taking risk and chances, take a chance on Obama, theres no risk in it.

The problem with your statement is there is no compassion. Not everyone have the same opportunities as others. I'm voting for Obama because he sends a message of hope for the unfortunate. Jesus was controversial because of his convictions and passion for the poor. I can tell you are conservative, well, your compassionate conservatism for the past 8 years has set this country back 20 years!

We're much improved from last year. Finishing 8-2. Great job Coach Matlock. But, now we have 2 weeks off. 1 week would be ideal but you'all know my feeling on our schedule and no need of crying about it. I think we can make it a positive and prepare for our opponent(s). The only thing I dont know who we will play. Who do we play 1st round?:confused:

Theres been a lot of talk about our schedule, strength / weakness. My concern is we play 10 straight weeks and off 2 weeks before playoffs, which is really 3 weeks before we actually play. Who makes this schedule and why would our AD put us in this situation? I mean it was the same last year?

Not so fast my friend. Our boys hate losing. They will be ready and fired up to fight for a win. It will be a good game, but I think we're up for the challenge. I think the rain helps our cause. Go Rain!! haha

First off. I have to vent. We (holston) dont get any respect, not from the football community and referee community. I'm tired of the striped shirts not getting the job done. The qualifications for that job must be breathing. They missed the first down call and I'm yet to see a block in the back. Those would have made a world of difference in the game. We got screwed last year with the refs in the ph game and took another this year up there. Who is over the refs? I liked to give him or them a call!

Overated: Chilhowie - they have one threat according to the guys I work with (the williams kid). Underated: Holston - we cant help our schedule and what the other teams records are. Our boys prepared and took care of business. It will be a slobber knocker Friday - a good game.

I was making a statement. But, I've checked your record and you haven't been eating humble pie all the time. Example: Everytime you'alll started 2-0 (beating jb & ph), you and others were on here declaring you were going to win the Southwest District. And we see how that turned out for you! Don't be coming after me! I've tried to show some class buddy!! But the lack of respect is getting to me! I hope we go 10-0 to shut some up.

first off, i'm not bashing. I'm proud of our team. Its funny, if abingdon was 7-0 then u would be talking about them. This is an outlet for the region to see that there is another school/town in washington county other than abingdon. I dont know about Battle but we love our coach. The kids really respond to him. Coach Matlock has done wonders for our community and brought pride back to Holston. I dont think there is a better coach in va (thats my opinion). I've got confidence in him and what he puts on the field every friday. I'm being humble when I say this, victory feels great. I realize we have a tough task the next couple of games (exspecially friday). But I have confidence in our coach and we will prevail. Before Matlock, we've been known for the town that hosted "trail days." But now, we're known for Football and I love it!

Could've, would've, should've. Get over it. Our boys played hard, showed poise, and beat you guys. Get over it. Im proud of our guys, im proud to be part of something, I think our boys have made progress beating teams that beat us last year, we still dont get respect. Hey, they took it to RR friday. I predict our boys will go 10-0 and if not they are still going to the playoffs. People of holston, be proud of your team.
