I would like to announce my departure from this board. A spiritual fast to cleanse my mind of the negativity shown to me and my falcons. Why? I’m tired of the false impressions made every week about my Abingdon by the majority on this board. We are a recognized historic landmark by the Common Wealth of Va! Abingdon is the birth place of America’s first – 1st Lady: Martha Washington. I’m proud of the falcon tradition of excellence – academically and athletically. Despite the false information on another thread, lets clear something up: 1st – I said we are competitive in softball not dominate! Learn to READ! 2nd – Crosscountry and Track are a sport – there is no other sport that measure athletic will more than those two. And WE DOMINATE IN THOSE!! 3rd – Despite what you think, our kids are just as hard nosed as anyone else (can take some yelling too), but does yelling and being loud make you a good coach?? I don’t think so, if that was true than Kanye West would be a good coach. 4th – We are not a party town, a historic town. Every school has their issues with kids partying – Richlands is a good example. (We are not the only ones!!) 5th – I’m proud to be part of the Falcon Nation and what it stands for – great academics = great athletics. Finally, I will not miss the whinning of the Candy Canes, the insults and lack of even minimal etiquette shown to any falcon fan when they mention Abingdon. Ps: When, not if, my falcons become the dominate force in Football in this district, I will end my intellectual fast and return to this board to talk sports. Goodbye and God Bless

I disagree, the measure of true athletes is winning in multiple sports, not just one my friend.

What did we do wrong? Hmm, football isn't the only sport you know. We dominate: Cross Country Soccer Track Baseball Swimming Tennis Golf Band Competitive in: Basketball Volleyball Softball and yes, FOOTBALL

I dont make 80,000 and I can afford health care for my family? Its called being competitive and doing something for yourself. Have an Entrepreneur spirit and quite asking for your daddy "uncle sam" to wipe your butt. Americans should pick themselves up, work hard, get more educated, get active and quite living a lazy lifestyle, most health problems are associated with the lack of physical fitness. Hell, the NFL is spending money to keep Physical Education in our public schools, because most liberals want to focus on the arts, music, etc. No, on the Government Option!

I was trying to be complimentary in my other posts, but you guys took it wrong (imagine that). So, enjoy taking your shots at me. You guys can crow now but not in the future. I've sat back and heard all of the rhetoric about the Gov. Option. Don't we have that, its called Medicaid. The liberals fund it for votes. Our health care system is in need of some reorganization and its called competition. We need to eliminate the huge Pharmaceutical Companies and allow smaller businesses to compete. The problem is, health care is a big business and there is no bigger business in our great United States than the Government. Its sad to see our country is leaning more toward Socialism and away from the things that made this country great and that's having a competitive spirit. Our culture is changing for the worst, we lack the competitive fire that made us great!
