  1. Yes I think our boys will do a good job this year as long as we can fill in those gaps, they will be tested against Powell Valley and I'm excited to see how we hold up
  2. I think our Lebanon boys have a chance this year
  3. Starting with their Offense, Giles has their whole backfield returning and are only missing two O-lineman and a Tight End, Justin Gautier who was 1000+ yards last year at Fullback has gotten faster and will again be the main man on offense. Now to Defense, Giles' Defensive Line has all 3 lineman coming back, Greg Ray is now 295, Justin Farmer is 290, and Jayke Dowdy is up to 149. Last year Dowdy led the Defensive Line in tackles and from what I hear has gotten a lot stronger and way faster than last year, while Farmer and Ray are both being chased by D1 schools. Giles still has McCoy at Quick end, Gautier at Linebacker, Robertson at Corner back, and Matt Bane at Safety. Their Secondary was god awful last year and was the main source of their losses. I will be watching them closely this year and looking for improvements from Coach Bales on his Secondary and Jeff Williams will hopefully get his linebackers tackling this year so they won't have to rely on their D-line to do everything like last year. Giles will be a force to be reckoned with this year! Good thing my Lebanon boys don't have them on their schedule anymore
  4. Riverheads canceled so Giles is playing Haysi at home
  5. How is Jayke Dowdy not on there for DL he had more tackles than all of those lineman, he led Giles' defensive line in tackles at 143 pounds
  6. They scrimmage Giles, look out for Gautier running the ball, and their defensive line is incredible. Greg ray 280, Jayke Dowdy 150, and Justin Farmer 280. Greg and Justin played against yall last year.. Jayke moved to Nose Guard after the Blacksburg game. He's small but that little rascal can play
  7. The nose guard's name is Jayke Dowdy number 31. He had 3 tackles and one sack in the Lebanon game and I saw him pick off the guard on the play where that atkins kid picked up the fumble and ran it. If Dowdy wouldnt have picked that guard off there would have been a lead blocker in front of the ball carrier, that is how you guys held us off and won
  8. yeah the single wing is hard to stop, the more you study it the more problems it gives you
  9. I'm Jayke Dowdy, The nose guard for Giles, don't ask about the user name its an inside joke. No one is supposed to know the schedule yet but I have saw it. Scrimmage Princeton at home Scrimmage Hidden Valley away Blacksburg Home Christiansburg Away Narrows Home River Heads Away George Wythe Away Glenvar Home Auburn Away East Mont Away Radford Away Floyd Home The scrimmages, Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Narrows, Radford, and Floyd are in the position they occur on the schedule. I dont remember the particular order of the rest.
  10. This year the Giles Spartans to me will have the best defense in the area. I'm a Lebanon Alumni and seeing what Giles did to our running game with only 4 seniors is impressive. Starting with the Defensive line.. They have two huge tackles who I'm sure are very strong and fairly quick, and then their little Nose Guard, this kid is 5'8 145 pounds and is one of the best defensive lineman I have saw in the past few years, all three of these kids are returning for the '09 season. They are weak in their secondary but I'm sure that will change this year. Look out this season
