  1. I realllllllly hope that you didn't post this being serious. lol
  2. NASCAR has built the sport around Jr. because of his popularity amongst fans. However, I think this has backfired as Nascar in general has lost its luster.
  3. I was on the Aaron Rodgers bandwagon the night that he defeated Virginia Tech in a bowl game, while at Cal. I also gained respect for him throughout the Favre situation.
  4. I have no problem with what Huggins said. Jennings acted like a baby and left, he doesn't deserve respect because he didn't earn it. Coach Stewart called out a few individual players this past season and the "Stew Haters" blasted him for it. Either way I am ok with it. A lot of people b&t*h about rules against hard hits and how it takes away from the game, but GOD FORBID a lazy, egotistical player gets called out. That's the problem with America, might as well give every damn player in the NCAA a trophy for participation because we treat them like they are playing little league.
  5. I didn't read it on a message board. I heard it on WVMETRONEWS radio station. Thank you.
  6. I guess I was right the first time. Rich Rod does still owe WVU money. I think Michigan picked up a portion of the payment. Rich Rod sent WVU a payment this morning of 500k. He still has one more maypent to make to WVU and it is due in January.
  7. Yeah, I think you are right. Michigan still owes some money then. lol
  8. Don't forget that this guy still owes WVU money and lots of it.
  9. Michael Jackson at the Super Bowl with Bruce Bowen because Kelsey Grammar called in sick.
  10. I have season tickets to WVU games and here is my take on fans. (It probably is like this for most teams, but I definitely see it at the games I go to.) - Noel Devine run up the middle for 1 yard - Fan reaction: That is a TERRIBLE call. - Noel Devine run up the middle for 56 yards. - Fan reaction: Cheering, GREAT CALL! - Noel Devine sweep left -2 yards. - Fan reaction: Why do we keep calling that play? How come we never pass the ball?? - Noel Devine sweep left for 22 yards. - Fan reaction: It's about time we called that play. - Geno Smith incomplete pass. - Fan reaction: We just got a 22 yard run, why are we throwing the ball? - 4th Quarter, WVU up by 14. Run play to Shawne Alston. - Fan reaction: Why are we just running the ball? We need to win by as many points as possible! Fire Mullen and Stewart. - 4th Quarter, WVU up by 14. Incomplete pass by Geno Smith. - Fan reaction: Why are we not running the clock out? We have a two touchdown lead.
  11. Because it doesn't support FieldGenerals agenda. Its ok for Luck to treat a fellow Mountaineer like crap in Coach Stew. But its just horrible when Rich Rod turns his back on the state of WV. In my opinion they are equally as wrong.
  12. He should have been smart enough to run off so quickly. There is a good chance that he would have been given a fair shot but he blew that chance.
  13. The system wasn't Devines problems. Its not a coincidence that Shawne Alson was more effective than Devine. WVU ran many of the same running plays out of the spread that they did under Rrod. The difference was that Alston went North-South and had a combo of size and speed. Devine ran East-West. Any unbiased observe could see that.
  14. Why would you offer a guy who ran to Michigan and had already been announced as the offensive coordinator there???????
  15. As for Noel Devine and Jock Sanders. Both very good players, but to think they are All Americans is also laughable. Not a knock on Devine but WVU's offense was much more effective with a north, south runner.
  16. Once again you have NO clue what went on behind the scenes. He WAS considered but the second he went with Rich to the Michigan press conference and was introduced as the new offensive coordinator then his shot was gone. No one to blame but himself. And its damn good that we didn't offer a guy who ended up lying about racism. If you think he should have been offered a position then you are ignorant.
  17. You are right in that they are disadvantaged with recruiting in the state of West Virginia. But WVU has always had success recruiting its pipeline states and really got into Florida in the 80's.
  18. True that WVU expects 11 wins a season and that is totally ridiculous but I think you are a little off about the "lucky to get 7 wins" statement.
  19. I don't agree with a Hokie very often but Hokie07 you are spot on. I completely agree with everything you said.
  20. The coaching changes at WVU has really got me thinking about the current state of college football. Nine wins or less per season just doesn't seem to be enough anymore. Are standards too high? I think what most people don't realize is that college football has changed so much from ten years ago. There are no easy wins. You have to be both lucky and good to win them all. In my opinion, ten years ago JMU wouldn't have had a chance against VT. Appy State NEVER would have won in the Big House. The reduction of scholarships are making college football as a whole more competitive. I know all teams should have high standards but I feel like that most schools are making situations more troublesome for themselves.
  21. Fieldgeneral, There are some inaccuracies in your post. 1. The whole idea that Doc Holliday "guided" Coach Stew is completely false and overall an ignorant statement. 2. WVU should have given Magee the HC or OC position? This is the same guy who was introduced as Michigans next OC before he even coached his last game as a Mountaineer. He is also the same guy who later made false racial accusations against the WVU administration. 3. The offensive talent after the Fiesta Bowl season is not even close to being compared to a Ferrari.
  22. There are a lot of WVU fans, including myself that are very angry at how Oliver Luck has handled this.
