futbolking 766 Report Share Posted April 26, 2005 Why does Tazewell put itself in the single A division of the tournament? and put Floyd in the AA division of the tournament? This makes no sense. Seems to me that they're more interested in getting a couple of "w's", instead of playing tougher competition to get better. Any thoughts. By the way, I'm saying this, because I learned that Tazewell will be playing Fort Chiswell and John Battle in the tournament... Richlands, Graham and Floyd will make up the other division... Come on Tazewell grow some!!
dawgs86 10 Report Share Posted April 26, 2005 Dont forget Narrows in the Tazewell division ... Your right though, Tazewell does play in the easier division and I couldnt tell ya why.. I never liked it when I was playing.. Different thing from this year is I dont know if Tazewell has a lock on winning it this year.. But in the past I think the only other AA team that we have played was Richlands one year.. But I agree, Tazewell should play more competition in the Tourney only bad thing about this year is this year is if the AA had a bracket it would be the southwest district championship minus Carroll Co.. That could be the only LOGICAL reason but I doubt thats it and I cant honestly tell you why they play in the A division..
futbolking 766 Author Report Share Posted April 26, 2005 Narrows withdrew from the tournament. The White Division (or as I like to call it, the "weenie" division) is: Tazewell, Narrows, Fort Chiswell The Green Division (or as I like to call it, the "studly" division) is: Graham, Floyd, and Richlands. What's the glory in winning the white division, for Tazewell. I think they're just trying to pad their record. Drawing names from a hat, might have been the best way to go here....it looks awfully deliberate, because it happened last season.

And I wouldnt go as far to call the other division the "studly" division.. Probably the better but not the studly considering Tazewell beat both those teams last year.. futbolking 766 Author Report Share Posted April 27, 2005 Key words: "last season". If Tazewell is such studs, then they should play up with the big boys.
dawgs86 10 Report Share Posted April 27, 2005 I dont think anyone called Tazewell studs.. You were the one calling Graham Floyd and Richlands studs.. Right now I would say the only thing close to a "stud" team in the SWD would be Graham and they havent even matched well against Highlands District teams.. I really dont see why it bothers you this much.. How come nothing is said about Richlands playing Narrows twice in the season, Carroll Co. playing Grayson Co.?? Those are no big deals so why is Tazewell playing Fort Chiswell and John Battle??
buzz 10 Report Share Posted April 27, 2005 Richlands should be playing some teams that are coed. Remember Richlands still has girls on the team, it gives them a chance to get some play time. Narrows, Richlands and Ft. Chiswell all started their soccer program the same year.
futbolking 766 Author Report Share Posted April 27, 2005 The big deal is that it's a tournament...and the pairings have always been slanted in tazewell's favor. What's the big deal in winning the tournament, if you're not playing the best competition? sorry, if i'm wrong, i wouldn't say anything about it, if it didn't happen every single year. When you win this tourney, just don't get too excited, that's all...
dawgs86 10 Report Share Posted April 27, 2005 Well its usually a preseason tourney for Tazewell so we usually dont get to excited about winning it.. We get just as excited as if we wouldve beat someone else in another game.. By the way no one even looks at this Tourney as a big thing.. Last year we played Floyd, you know.. one of your "stud" teams.. Ill give it to ya that it is easier, but its usually a preseason tournament and thanks for the compliment on Tazewell because you think Tazewell is better than most people would and saying they should play in the more competitive bracket, or as you like to say “studly†bracket ... [ QUOTE ] If Tazewell is such studs, then they should play up with the big boys. [/ QUOTE ] In my opinion I dont think think there are any big boys in the Tournament.. I would say the only team i would call "big boys" would be Marion..
futbolking 766 Author Report Share Posted April 27, 2005 exactly, I would just like to see Tazewell play the better teams, that's all. I heard that Fort Chiswell has now dropped out, is that true? If so, the brackets might have to be done again anyway.... I just hope that the tourney actually gets to happen at this point and from the looks of the weather forecast, it may not be a possibility.
