Beckley_WWHS 10 Report Share Posted October 15, 2005 Beckley finished the game with 448 yards of total offense against an outmanned Spring Valley team. The score was actually 20-14 with about five minutes to go in the half before the Beckley offense exploded at the end of the 2nd quarter and during the 3rd quarter. The 2nd and 3rd team played the end of the third quarter and into the 4th. A lot of players had big plays and great games for Beckley. It was a total team effort. Huntington has the athletes to be dangerous if we don't play well next week. Their QB throwed almost 45 times tonight. Our defense will have to be clicking and the line will have to play a good game and we will have to of course limit mistakes going on the road. Great win and good luck next week. [/ QUOTE ] Yes, they're having an excellent season but this game isn't exactly continuing the great run. I mean Spring Valley is terrible. It was like having an off week for the Eagles. It looks like the Beckley pass defense will get a good test the last three regular season games. Huntington, Nitro, and George Washington all like to pass quite a bit. Bluefield_Rules 46 Report Share Posted October 15, 2005 Beckley should simply destroy Huntington and George Washington over the next three weeks. The I'm, and most everyone, is looking forward to is the Nitro game. Nitro is a good team, but they rely too heavily on one player in Culbertson, which makes it easier for a team to key on him. Whereas Beckley, has five different kids out of the backfield and you cannot key on any one of them or another one will beat you. Additionally, defensively Nitro doesn't have the speed and/or quickness to contain Beckley's offensive weapons. Culbertson is quick and Fulmer is as well, but Beckley has 9 or 10 Culbertson's and Fulmer's on the field at one time. In order for Nitro to win they'll have to win a shootout.
