Highlandsfan 10 Report Share Posted March 31, 2006 Abingdon defeated Graham 6-1. Graham scored first on a beautiful shot that was well placed. Abingdon then followed up with six unanswered goals. The game was completely one sided. Graham played a lot of long balls and tryed to out muscle Abingdon, the rest of the game they packed the box and just tried to play counter attack soccer but didnt have much success. ghssoccer1 10 Report Share Posted March 31, 2006 tonight was a good game for both teams it was really physical on both parts, not to mention the refs sucked they had horrible calls on both teams, all that aside they beat us,, but what everyone else has to understand is that is grahams 3rd game we are still in our rusty game,, all of grahams difficult games have been the ones that were called off, sure we played richlands and giles.. but how does it help you out as a team when u kill a team , that doesnt make you a better team,, tonights match up was a tough team and in my opinion it was 2 fairly even matched up teams but the main reason i think abingdon came out on top was the fact they have more games under their belt and have been able to work our all their kinks and problems.. graham still has to play a few more games and get some more practice in before i think we can work out or kinks.. and then after all that is said and done we will be once again be a tough team but until then we are gonna have a few problems... but i think with our new coach and his coaching methods they will pay off soon enough..... beano5 14 Report Share Posted March 31, 2006 "Richlands had you tied at two until their goalie got his jaw broken" Â actually Richlands didnt tie it at 2 until the second half...we were up 2-1 when the goalie broke his jaw there all-star....and the only reason the Giles game was so close...it was a scrimmage...we never had the best 11 on the field at the same time... ghssoccer1 10 Report Share Posted March 31, 2006 exactly ,, richlands wasnt tied then.. plus in my opinion and just about everyone elses opinion richlands backup goalie was way better than mathew.. so you all cant blame a loss on the keeper being hurt when the backup did a better job.. and yeah we may have only beat giles by one.. but we were also subing in and out the whole game , at one point our two strikers were last years defense .. so we were trying new things that game .. we may have only one by one goal but we killed them in control and everything else... ghs01 10 Report Share Posted April 2, 2006 Seems the game on Saturday proves your point Abingdon and Graham are both tough teams and evenly matched when the game is called evenly Both teams played a great game and the score 1-1 showed they are more evenly matched in skill than Thursdays game at Abingdon Go Gmen!!
