get_the_duck 10 Report Share Posted February 27, 2007 Can anyone give me an intelligent reason why Washington County has 4 high schools? If they reduced to 2 schools, wouldn't they both be very competitive in all athletic and academic arenas?
hhstigerfan 12 Report Share Posted February 27, 2007 I'd say when all the buildings in Washington Co. get too old and dilapadated(sp) they will build new schools. I think all 4 schools in the county were actually built around the same time, so they would probably be replaced around the same time. In 20-30 years, all the counties around here will have consolidated high schools. Just look at 20 years ago how many more high schools we had around here. Rich Valley, R.B. Worthy, Garden, Whitewood, and the 5 Lee County schools that formed Lee High and around the 50s there were a few more.
