Ryan4VT 4,557 Report Share Posted August 22, 2007 Glennon named starter. Tyrod Taylor named 2nd string qb. Holt named 3rd string. Whitaker has permanently moved to WR. Taylor will likley redshirt. Making it the same as Ma. Vick's last year when glennon redshirted. Holt will get all the clean-up snaps.
sandman 13 Report Share Posted August 22, 2007 That plan won't be worth the paper that it's printed on after Glennon has a four turnover game in a loss against a team Tech should beat. Then Beamer will have to make a move.
vthokies4life 10 Report Share Posted August 22, 2007 Glennon has improved. He can feel pressure now and he won't make bad decisions. That was last year, this is this year. http://www.hokiesports.com/football/recaps/20070821aaa.html That's just an overview of some depth chart changes. sandman 13 Report Share Posted August 22, 2007 He can feel pressure now..... He'll be feeling real pressure if he starts tossing the ball to the team in the other jerseys.
GHS06 10 Report Share Posted August 22, 2007 Tyrod will definitely play, but probably only 2 snaps or however many a redshirted player can play. In other news, glad to see Ike move positions. Hopefully he can get playing time.
BigD4VT 11 Report Share Posted August 22, 2007 A redshirt player can't play at all. A "redshirt" simply means a season (only one) in which the player didn't play a single down won't be counted against his eligibility.
adidas 10 Report Share Posted August 22, 2007 so if someone redshirted they still have the r next to their class the rest of their college career, Sean Glennon for example it says r-Jr?
Bluefield_Rules 46 Report Share Posted August 22, 2007 [ QUOTE ] A redshirt player can't play at all. A "redshirt" simply means a season (only one) in which the player didn't play a single down won't be counted against his eligibility. [/ QUOTE ] Not totally true. If a player only plays in a certain small percentage of games (cannot remember the %) and then is injured they can apply for a red-shirt, and in most cases receive one. See Jason Worilds (formerly Adjepong) last season. And in special circumstances players are granted more than one red-shirt season. With that said, Taylor will not take a single snap unless Sean Glennon is injured and expected to miss an extented period of time. Cory Holt will take any and all garbage time snaps. bluenado5 12 Report Share Posted August 22, 2007 If Glennon slips at all Tyrod will probably be in there. He might be even if he doesn't slip.

Bluefield_Rules 46 Report Share Posted August 23, 2007 Regardless, the writing is on the wall for next season. There is no way, barring injury, that Taylor isn't the starting QB next fall. It'll just be one season too late IMO. My only wish is that he had enrolled in January instead of June and could have gone through spring drills. Guest BEAVERTAIL Report Share Posted August 26, 2007 I think it will be ok. Ore will open up a lot of things downfield for glennon, who has looked better IMO this year.
