GMan 3,569 Report Share Posted December 14, 2007 Guess I'll have to be a soccer hooligan for a few hours this afternoon/evening...
hokie07 11 Report Share Posted December 15, 2007 The score is 0-0 at that half. Tech has had a couple golden opportunities that Edmans hasn't come through on.. this game should be at least 1-0 in Tech's favor...
beano5 14 Report Share Posted December 15, 2007 oh i know...if Nyarko hadnt slipped it would be 1-
hokie07 11 Report Share Posted December 15, 2007 If Tech can keep up the intensity and maybe punch one in sometime in the 2nd half then it looks like they might punch a ticket to the title game!
GHS06 10 Report Share Posted December 15, 2007 Its 1-0 Wake now. Someone got picked and lost their mark on a free kick. VT needs an equalizer!

bhs7695 185 Report Share Posted December 15, 2007 They looked sloppy for a good part of the game, but Wake is just masterful with their passing and handling skills. VT is getting closer, but they needed to capitalize on their chances. They just didn't do that tonight.
GMan 3,569 Author Report Share Posted December 15, 2007 Yeh, VT let a couple of great scoring chances get away from them...especially the one in the first half. They just couldn't get it going because WF played some great D on Nyarko...
Deleted Account 5,203 Report Share Posted December 15, 2007 A rough 2-0 loss to the Demon Deacons, it appears. The ACC is the deepest conference for soccer east of the Rocky Mountains: great teams all around: Duke, Wake Forest, North Carolina, Clemson, Virginia, and now Virginia Tech. I'm sure I missed a couple of powers. I'm speaking from a little experience, too: Virginia fell in the semifinals of the College Cup last year. No reason for the Hokies to hang their heads, however: it has been a fantastic season for them. Patrick Nyarko was named as a 2007 first-team All-American, which is quite an accomplishment. Making it to the national semifinals is quite an accomplishment in itself. Congratulations to the Hokies on a great season. Hopefully they can parlay this success into maintaining a consistent national-title-contending program.
GMan 3,569 Author Report Share Posted December 15, 2007 Don't forget about Boston College and Maryland...BC was the #1 seed in the NCAA tournament and Maryland was the #13 seed.
vthokies4life 10 Report Share Posted December 15, 2007 The other great thing, Tech has pretty much everyone back. I can't wait until next year.
