It's not very hard to blame Mallett, really.

He was recruited to play in a pro-style offense, the style to which he's best suited. Michigan fires the coach who recruited him, and brings in a coach who runs a dynamically different offense. It does nothing but hurts Mallett's future stock if he stays and performs poorly in a system that would most likely accent his weaknesses.

 

I'm generally against students transferring from schools unless there is a highly valid reason, and I believe that this is indeed a viable reason to leave.

My first question to the huge Michigan fan that I work with when Rodriguez took the job, where do you think Ryan Mallett will transfer to? I project back home to one of the Texas schools...
