VivaFutbol 10 Report Share Posted February 13, 2008 This was a hard fought win for the Maroons tonight. With some players in foul trouble in the 1st half, the Maroons struggled offensively. The managed 25 points at halftime, less than half of what they had last time against the Warriors. The Maroons couldn't throw it in the ocean tonight. The Maroons did however pick up the intensity late in the 3rd. The Warriors had it to a one point game and had the ball but couldn't convert. Brett Grimes made two huge threes and they propelled the Maroons to another district championship. Tennis Simon had a "quiet" 26 points, Grimes added 10 and sharp shooter Devin Smith had a mere 4 points. He was one of the leading 3pt% in Timesland but like I said earlier we couldn't throw it in the ocean. The Maroons have back to back games with Fort Chiswell with tomorrows at the Fort and Thursdays in Wytheville. In JV action the Maroons took the outright district championship from the defending champion Warriors with a convincing 16 point win. Those two will meet again in the district final on Monday at Patrick Henry.
