mhsalum 31 Report Share Posted March 7, 2008 Joe Favero appointed head coach Friday, March 7, 2008 The Henry County School Board approved Joe Favero as the new head football coach at Magna Vista High School on Thursday night. Favero will succeed Kenny Moran, who stepped in for John Curia at the start of the 2007 season. Favero has been employed by the Henry County School System since 2002. He also has been the defensive coordinator for Bassett High School for four years and offensive coordinator for one year. During his time at Bassett the team won four Piedmont District championships and two Region IV titles. He has also served as the varsity boys soccer coach since 2003. Favero was unable to attend Thursday’s meeting due to a soccer game. A statement was released in his absence. “I believe in a culture of strong character, commitment and competition,†he stated in the release. “I have enjoyed being a part of the many successes of the Bassett High School football team and look forward to the opportunity to be the next head football coach for the Magna Vista Warriors.†In addition to coaching, Favero will teach physical education at Magna Vista.
