Blacksburg VS. Bassett

Both teams moved the ball well which also means that the defenses looked shaky. BB has a good qb (Gresh) and a good running back (Bales). He is a very hard runner. Woods for Bassett is great but his receivers dropped nearly every pass, 2 of them for tds. This scrimmage was even IMO

 

Magna Vista VS. Western Albermarle

MV will finish last in the Peidmont. They didn't look good at all. Their line is bad and the d was caught out of position on many occasions. WA was very small but quick they are average at best.

 

Tunstall VS. Blacksburg.

Didn't last too log due to lightning but these teams looked even as well. This was BB's 2nd scrimmage so maybe Tunstall was more fresh. Tunstall has good speed and seemed to have really gotten better since last year.

 

Patrick VS. WA

Patrick was the surprise of the day. john Harris ran all over WA. PC is running spread as well as I formations. This is creating some serious runnin glanes for the lightning fast Harris. Their line also looks very strong. Qb looked very uncertain for PC. They also looked good on D. PC will compete and may win the region in D3. They looked that good but it was against a very inferior opponent IMO.

 

That was all of the action I saw. Some good football was played. Blacksburg will be a solid team in the River Ridge. The Peidmont looks like it will not be a 1 horse race after all.
