deuceswild 15 Report Share Posted September 9, 2008 So lets say you could combine any schools in southwest Virginia. As many as you wanted. But you couldn't go over 2200 students. What schools would you combine together in order to take on AAA powers like Phoebus, Hampton, Centreville, James Robinson, and CD Hylton? And do you think your combination would even beat those schools? Or would it just be your best team for a respectable effort? To make it interesting, you can't have more than two schools from the same division on your team. Lastly, who would be your coach? And where would you build your school? JamesL_CcLB34 10 Report Share Posted September 9, 2008 well i've always wondered what tazewell county could do if they combined graham, richlands, and tazewell. imagine like a few years ago McCracken,Jennings, Henry, combine richlands and grahams line i'd say it'd be ridiculous. idk the numbers but thinking hypothetically here if those 3 did combine could they still be AA? I believe they could technically be on the lower reaches of AAA. Now, I'm not terribly sure of the 9-12 numbers of each school in southwest Virginia, so please correct me if I'm wrong. Richlands: 784 Tazewell: 615 Graham: 560 Were we to combine these, we'd have 1959 students in grades 9-12. That's right in the range of AAA, Division 5. Of course, this would never happen. Who wants to drive to Lynchburg to play a district game?
deuceswild 15 Author Report Share Posted September 9, 2008 I would take GW and Gate City for my first 1000. Then I'd probably go with Richlands (although they arent' what they used to be) and Chilhowie because c'mon, I gotta have my alma mater in there. So for a Coach.. hmm, probably go with Colobro as head, Mance and Donnie Pruitt as assistants. My schools probably wouldn't beat any of those AAA teams, but we'd leave bruises on'm. I'd probably pave over the lake at the Breaks and put my school there. We'd be the Breaks Badazzes.

nooge 10 Report Share Posted September 9, 2008 I have thought about Rural Retreat, Fort Chiswell, and George Wythe into one Wythe County High School. All three of those schools together would have an enrollment of 1335. RR has 339, GW has 468, and FC has 528. FC has talent, but just can't seem to get it together..GW and RR always have quality athletes. I would take Dean Rhea as my coach. Some big names have come from RR and GW alone, I don't know much about FC's players.
