Clay Smith and Andrew Dye both tallied three hits for Honaker, while Patrick Henry's Ronnie Groves took two walks **************************** St. Paul 13, Thomas Walker 1 Tyler Phillips led both the offense and the pitching in the Deacons' Thursday victory over Cumberland District foe Thomas Walker. Phillips went 3-for-3 at the plate, including a grand slam in the seventh inning, and struck out 12 Pioneers while pitching a one-hitter. **************************** App. 5, Ervinton 1 (Game 1) App. 9, Ervinton 7 (Game 2) The Bulldogs swept the Rebels in a doubleheader. Ervinton loaded the bases with one out in the final inning of the second game but the Rebels (3-5) were unable to convert. Appalachia was led by Tyler Hall, who scored a combined five runs. ******************************** Virginia High 13, Hornell (N.Y.) 0 Dillon Sullins pitched a complete-game three-hitter to lead the Bearcats to a victory in a Myrtle Beach, S.C. tournament. Dakota Katelouvos had three hits for Virginia High and Tyler Arnold had a solo home run and a two-RBI single.
