It's a shame the best 2 teams in region D are meeting in a 1st round game.

Lebanon @ Honaker tomorrow should be a doozy!

if lebanon is one of the best two teams in the region, why did gate city win the cmd?

My post was in reference to how hot lebanon has been playing lately.

Took out Va. High twice, won the cmd tourney.

Gate City is ok but other than the kid they have that is like 8-1 they taint got much.

Win over VHS the first time came over the last week of April, Va High beat them 3-0 the last week of the season, then they edged Battle by a run, and the GC beat them 8-3 the last game of the season. GC also beat them 10-0 in 5 the first time. Lebanon did have a nice two game run through the tournament though. The CMD was just solid from top to bottom, very good overall.

Aside from Kirk, Estepp has also done well for GC, and Hughes has had a couple of good games in his latest appearances. They have a solid team all around. They've stumbled a couple of times in the past couple of weeks but also had the CMD locked up, they'll probably return to form as they head into the Region.

When compton pitches for lebanon they can beat anyone.

And gate city should easily make it to states.

The road through the region for them is lined with cupcakes.

I mean come on. Haysi in the 1st round and then coeburn or powell valley.

The other side is loaded with kelly, honaker and lebanon.

When Compton is on and pitching well and he's getting some good help on both sides, they're certainly very tough. But you mention GC only having one, for Lebanon that's definitely proven to be true.

PV is just as good as Kelly, actually they split during the regular season, and PV won the district tourney. PV's also come the closest to beating Honaker this season. Coeburn played Kelly tough earlier in the season, believe they fell by a run, but have dropped some others like to Burton by greater margins.
