Lovely idea. Instead of getting $2000 of damage when I hit a deer, now I'll get the wonderful gift of death when I plow into a 1000-pound bull elk. But more seriously, the numbers of hunting enthusiasts are dropping, and we're already seeing the effects with deer populations. Adding elk just exacerbates the problem beyond what this area can handle.
