BLUEFIELD — Award shows have been all the rage in recent years on television, with performers from the entertainment and music world seemingly always receiving some type of hardware to lose at home.

High school basketball is much the same, with all-area, all-district, all-region, all-section, all-state and a slew of others teams released by various media and coaching organizations.

Here is one more, a tradition that continues on.

The Bluefield Daily Telegraph presents its annual All-Four Seasons Country Basketball Team for all the girls and boys basketball clubs that are covered in the publication’s circulation area.

Leading this year’s squad are Pocahontas Coal Association/Bluefield Daily Telegraph players of the year, Tommy Symns of PikeView and Summers County’s Hallie Gunnoe.

Coach of the year honors went to Hurley boys coach Mark Cooper, who guided the Rebels to a 25-4 record and the Group A, Division 1 state semifinals, and James Cochran, who led the Richlands girls to the first basketball regional title in school history.

Below are three teams of five, followed by two honorable mention selections from each of the schools.
