tbgfan 856 Report Share Posted May 18, 2011 Published in today's May 18th 2011 edition BHC: Shannon Piedmont Farley has been selected as the new volleyball coach at Virginia High. Farley is a 1987 graduate of Richlands, where she earned first team All-Region IV and honorable mention All-Group AA honors. After graduating from Emory & Henry where she played two sports, Farley helped start the softball program at Richlands with her aunt, Rhonda Blevins. Richlands won four straight regional titles along with the 1995 Group AA championship during Farley's run. From 1997-2007, Farley served as the E&H softball coach. She led the Wasps to the 2003 ODAC title, sharing Virginia College Coach of the Year honors. Farley also coached volleyball at E&H from 1997 until 2002, guiding her teams to winning records in three of her last four years behind record-setting players such as Katy Dowe (Virginia High), Brook Hall Lambert (Abingdon) and former E&H volleyball coach Cassie Pochyla from Abingdon.
