Literally half this year's competitors' hopes hinged on precarious situations in 4th quarter and overtime. Canes00, our defending runner-up, needed (1) a fake FG conversion and (2) a 2-point stop in overtime for Syracuse to edge I-AA Villanova in 2OT. It looked even bleaker for hokiebird7, Ryan4VT, and even your Dear Leader, as NC State was down 10 with 6:55 to go in regulation. Alas, 2 TDs, the final one scored with 1:37 to go, gave NC State the win by a razor's edge. Such is life in ACC Survivor. It doesn't matter how you survive, but THAT you survive. As such, we have everyone alive going to Week 2. The other games can be depicted appropriately as such: BIG blowouts by Pitt, Duke (pick for BlueTornadoFan, and University of No Classes (pick for our defending champion, swvaoutdoors). It should be noted that Liberty led well into the second quarter against No Classes, but couldn't withstand the onslaught of a Fedora offense long enough. Comfortable wins by Georgia Tech (pick for GMan), Boston College and Virginia Tech. Not blowouts, but not nail-biters. The others? UCLA @ Virginia: "Ain't gonna be no rematch.
