crawdaddy 10 Report Share Posted September 15, 2014 Ive seen lots of post in the updates section about why Grundy lost the game but nothing about why Hurley won. The rebels have a good little ball team this year and played a great game Friday night. Their defense was smoking and their offense was on fire too. They scored on every possession execpt one, their condition was great also, they looked as good in the 4th as in the first. So give the kids some credit they deserve it. Grundy has had alot of great teams over the years and will in the future Duty and the freshman back are awesome players and I wish Grundy well the rest of the season and hope they win some games. The main thing was nobody got hurt and there was no fighting. I have friends who have kids that play on both sides of the hill and are proud of them all but I will say Hurley earned this one. Also Redtiger about tv and hurley never beating grundy I recall Hurley taking it to the tigers 2 years in a row, its not gonna happen this year though Haysi has a great team and you should be proud. I look for them to go all the way this year
redtiger 1,742 Report Share Posted September 15, 2014 Hurley took it to Haysi 3 years ago and won a close game 2 years ago. In the 2012 matchup those teams were about as evenly matched as ive ever seen Haysi and Hurley. My comments werent meant as a slight to Hurley or TV(ive always wanted to see both programs succeed). Its just hard for me to understand how Grundy could fall so far so fast. And its not just a down turen in talent for a couple of years, they have just about hit rock bottom. I dont meant any of that to be offensive to Grundy either, I just dont think anyone ever thought what has been happening over there would ever happen. Hurley Rebels 16 Report Share Posted September 17, 2014 Very proud of the Rebels for ending the losing streak to Grundy. I think Hurley has a heck of a good team this year and I think their coaches do an amazing job with the program for as small of a school they have. This years Grundy team had low numbers and a lot of young guys it seemed; but did have a few talented skill guys and lineman. I think Grundy will be good in a few years if McNutt doesn't throw down his helmet for wrestling shoes year round. A lot of good hits from the rebels all game long. Good luck to both teams the rest of the season. Really looking forward to see if Hurley can get better each week and give both tigers a good fight this year! redtiger
