pdfan 101 Report Share Posted November 25, 2006 14-0 with 10:11 left in the 1st,never seen anybody get behind that fast before. Had their chances but Bassett always came up with a play when they had to. Congrats to the Bengals and good luck against Amherst next week. Should be a very tough game but I'm sure Gilbert and the staff will have them ready to do the best that they can. Also congrats to Coach Edwards on a fine stint as the head man at Mavahi. Not many guys last 25 years in the coaching business as a head coach at the same school anymore, and Taylor you did yourself and the Bulldogs proud. Good luck in your future endeavors and you will be missed here on the Piedmont District's sidelines!!
ProudBengal 10 Report Share Posted November 27, 2006 It won't seem right looking at the Martinsville sideline and not seeing Coach Edwards (shorts and all) over there leading the Dogs. He is somewhat of an area icon in terms of coaching and everything that he has accomplished on and off the field. I'm sure that everyone from Bassett wishes Taylor the best in whatever he decides to do with his retirement, he certainly has earned it.
