  1. You didn't miss it by much, JM 118 Greensville 59.
  2. Gretna has only lost once (Halifax Co) and seem to have a solid team. We will find out how elite they are when they go to Reidsville on 2-1. The Rams are the real deal, Martinsville played them back in Dec, lost by 21 and we played a good game. Dan River with the 6'7" transfer from Carlilse is pretty solid too.
  3. Martinsville is very very young this year. They have played a very tough schedule and sit about .500. I really don't think Va High will have much issue with the Dogs this year. Also lost a starter due to an injury against Tunstall the other night.
  4. Final Lord Botty 36 Magna Vista 26
  5. Lord Botetourt 19 Magna Vista 19 mid 3rd quarter
  6. Byrd's not fancy but they're solid. Should be 2 good games in 3D. Magna Vista has been playing without their starting qb and one of their rb's the last 3 weeks. Hopefully the qb will be back this week, but Botty should be favored.
  7. Martinsville led 22-12 at the half and then completely fell apart in the 3rd quarter getting outscored 34-6 in the period. Gretna has some athletes.
  8. Just for my information what did Martinsville do that made you think, in your opinion of course, that they were undisciplined? I didn't see the game but from what I saw all year the reason they were competitive, was their discipline. I agree they didn't have alot of talent, they lost 3 players before the new year, 2 of which were starters, a 6'2 guard and a 6'6" post player. They had to be some what disciplined just to make it this far. So I was just wondering what you saw.
  9. Martinsville has been good defensively all year. On offense they have 2 or 3 pretty decent shooters but do like to get out and run. I'm just thinking that with a 3 hour bus ride into hostile territory, it might be a little to much to ask the Dogs to come back with a win. Hopefully it will be a well played competitive game.
  10. Again, Gretna is not bad. Not saying Graham can't win, but should be a good game. I don't see Martinsville winning. They'll play good defense but they can be offensively challenged sometimes.
  11. Makes sense, Altavista is only about 15-20 minutes up 29 from Gretna.
  12. I mean it's not a dump, it's just not as big as what the Gmen are used to playing in. All the Pittsylvania Co schools were built at about the same time and the gyms are carbon copies of each other. Also there is nothing like a Gretna home crowd, whether it's bball or football.
  13. I guess they will have to make a decision pretty quick, game is Tuesday night isn't it?
  14. Logan is only a soph. He's about 6'5". He played qb and wide receiver on the football team at Gretna. The whole team played football and it took them awhile to get going this season. All this according to the Gretna scorekeeper. Coming from a Dogs fan, Gretna is very athletic, good defensively and well coached. They like to play in transition and are always looking to push the ball up the court. Martinsville was able to control the tempo for the most part but we were unable to hit enough shots to pull it out. It was a 2 point game with a minute to go last night but Gretna scored the last 6 points for the win.
