With the addition of a new coach in Doug Mitchell and renewed excitement by the players, Virginia High should be real competetive this year. VHSFan999 10 Report Share Posted November 21, 2003 VHS will have a pretty good defense but wont be much on offense. 6'6" Mike Clay should be able to cause problems down low on defense and the rest of the guys are all great defenders but they just dont have that good of shooters or one person who can make plays. Greg 10 Author Report Share Posted November 22, 2003 VHS has some excellent shooters. They have never gotten the chance in the last few years. What is great about them this year is any kid on the team can have a great night shooting. With Clay, McVey, Pete among others inside and McClanahan, Slagle, Nicastro among others shooting from the outside....could be interesting. The JV squad had an excellent season last year and most of those kids are on Varsity this year. VHS's biggest problem I think will be their toughness. They don't seem to be a real physical squad. Got to beat and bang underneath. Hope they prove me wrong. Should be a pleasure to watch them anyways. Come out and support the Bearcats.
