RichlandsAlum 678 Report Share Posted December 10, 2006 My wife and I were walking to the stadium from the fairly remote section of LU where we parked (it's good to be a local who knows the back ways into and around campus). We were pretty much the only folks on the sidewalk. An SUV honks and the driver waves at us. Before I got a good look at him, I asked my wife something intelligent like, "Who the heck is that?" It was Jerry Falwell. I have no idea why he went out of his way to be friendly. I've met him a couple of times, but I'd be shocked if he really recognized me out on the street. Maybe it was the fact that I had a Richlands jacket on and he recognized me as a visitor patronizing his facilities. Maybe he reads this message board and he recognized the self photo I posted. Either way, I took it as a good sign from above. I swear I'm not making this up. I'm not sure that I actually said "heck," but that is the way I am choosing to remember it.
