Comcast has donated $15,000 to the city of Bluefield that will allow Bowen Field and Mitchell Stadium to be linked fiber-optically Comcast's distribution center on Leatherwood Lane. What does this mean? Comcast will develop a local community access channel for our local sports to be viewed on.

When completed those that have Comcast in Bluefield will be able to watch Bluefield Oriole baseball, but even better we'll be able to watch Bluefield and Graham high school football games. The games can be shown either live or taped delayed. The connection to Bowen Field should be completed by the end of this May. Unfortunately, right now it appears that the Mitchell Stadium aspect will not be completed until early 2005. Nevertheless, this is great news b/c we can now watch tape-delays of each Bluefield and Graham game.
