beaverbaseball 10 Report Share Posted October 11, 2004 Poca are ranked 30 in the standing..As for the past 3 years they have won the State Championship and 2 of those years were agaisnt Bluefield and I can proudly say i was on Bluefield team and it was just heartbreaking when I saw the ball rolling around in the snow and mud after the snap on the extra point..But this year Poca would have to win every game left on there schedule just to make the playoffs..SO boys i don't think we will have to worry about those damn Dots this year..SO GO BEAVERS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bluefield_Rules 46 Report Share Posted October 11, 2004 Honestly, I wasn't worried about Poca before the season started b/c of what they lost. They weren't, and aren't going to be a threat to Bluefield this year even if they do make the playoffs. The threats this year are teams such as Wayne and Weir... mavsgrad 28 Report Share Posted October 22, 2004 Yeah i'm sure it must be nice for the beavers not to have to worry about getting knocked off by the Poca Dots for a THIRD TIME!!!! Oh, and as for your heartbreaking moment, well if it hadn't been for our stupid coach , which we no longer have, you wouldn't have even been there two years ago. And yes Bluefield does have a great team this year but they better gitter done this year because next year ain't going to be pretty.

[ QUOTE ] And yes Bluefield does have a great team this year but they better gitter done this year because next year ain't going to be pretty.  [/ QUOTE ]  Maybe we'll get the folks at JM to help us out next year and do our schedule so we'll have plenty of creampuffs. They are the masters at James Monroe of scheduling as little competition as possible.
mavsgrad 28 Report Share Posted October 22, 2004 Well as for our schedule Princeton dropped us and it was kinda nice to not have to be escorted by state troopers down to Welch this year. So there are two good teams we had to replace. The problem is nobody wants to play us. Woodrow and Nicholas county won't play us so we have to go all the way to Point Pleasant tonight. I would like to see us pick up teams like Graham, Westside, and Poca, but thats not my call. As for you guys, yeah you've had an awesome while playing a tough schedule. Our weaker schedule will show up in the polls but keep in mind Bluefield is a prodominantly senior team while we are not. We have our best years ahead. Sources 10 Report Share Posted October 22, 2004 Mavsgrad, what's up with the defeatist attitude about the JM team this year? It appears that you don't have much faith in them when you keep making remarks on how their best years are ahead of them. It's almost as if you know Bluefield is going to beat them. Bluefield_Rules 46 Report Share Posted October 22, 2004 What does a senior dominated team have to do with scheduling tough opponents? Bluefield's schedule has, is, and will always be tough whether we have a senior dominated team or whether we're young and inexperienced. One of the reasons Bluefield is so good this year is b/c these seniors were thrown into the fire as freshmen and sophomores against tough opponents. They took their lumps the first two years, but they've been dishing out plenty of lump the past two years. Â Additionally, a good football team is a good football team regardless of whether you have senior or underclassman. Having the experience of seniors is nice, but talent is talent. Just rememeber, a senior dominated, undefeated James Monroe team lost in the playoffs at home to a sophomore dominated Bluefield team in 2002. Again, talent is talent. mavsgrad 28 Report Share Posted October 23, 2004 Yes i know that moron. If you were an observant reader you would see that I attributed that to our former ignorant head coach. Bluefield should never have won that game and any honest person could admit that. In fact the whole state found out how undeserving Bluefield was when the got spanked by Poca 27-7. I'll admit it up front, I expect us to lose Friday, so if we do thats not a big deal. However, if Bluefield loses that is a very big deal because they are expected to win. Bottom line, Bluefield is ALWAYS arrogant. I remember when Bluefield was 2-8 a few years ago. It was so pitiful listening to a Bluefield game on the radio. All the announcers would talk about how it was in the good old days when Bluefield was winning 9 and 10 games a season. OH SHUT UP, why can't Bluefield just suck it up. Oh yeah, it's easy to run your mouth when you are on top but have a little pride when you are rebuilding. Bottom line, James Monroe has far exceeded my expectation this year. I was looking for a 7-3 or an 8-2 record at best. As a fairly young team they have stepped up and won all their games so far. Even if we lose Friday I say GREAT JOB MAVS, you're looking forward to at least two home playoof games.
Sources 10 Report Share Posted October 23, 2004 Mavsgrad, I think I know what you're problem is.... Â Â Envy. Â Â Much like every other person from Monroe County, you are so envious of Bluefield and their football program that you cannot stand it. Believe me when I say this, I am going to thoroughly enjoy coming down to the sticks next weekend and seeing Bluefield lay the wood to your "young, best years ahead of them" Mavericks. Trust me, after this game, you're going to be wishing it were next year.
mavsgrad 28 Report Share Posted October 23, 2004 What do you mean sticks. We have one of the nicest fields in the state. I'm just glad we don't have to play in the HOOD where we have to beat the players and the refs. OH and i can tell you where you can put that wood. Sources 10 Report Share Posted October 23, 2004 I'm not going to get into a verbal exchange on here, it isn't even that serious. Â Needless to say, you better hope JM pulls off the win next week or you're going to get alot of flack on these boards in the weeks after. Though you should expect nothing less when you make statements such as the ones you have made in this thread.
mavsgrad 28 Report Share Posted October 23, 2004 I don't know what your guys problem is. I have said repeatedly that I am not looking for us to win. You don't hear me saying something like, yeah just wait until you come to Lindside this Friday and see what happens. The fact is I just HATE Bluefield and get tired of hearing about them. I think you are just a bunch of arrogant idiots. I don't know where you get the idea that I'm cocky about James Monroe. I will be a little suprised if we make it to the semi's and really suprised if we go to state. You see the reality is I don't care who beats you, just as long as somebody does. Oh, sure I would like for us to do it but just to see Rusty and the gang come up short for the third year in a row would make my whole year, and thats the last thing I have to say on this thread which I'm sure all you rodent fans very happy.
