WaveFan09 50 Report Share Posted October 16, 2004 Abingdon made it look like it was going to be a close or good ball game for a while when grundy scored abingdon scored right back making the score 7-7 then came the Wipe Out Grundy gets a good win tonite 54-13. Garon only had 10 carries, still got 106 yards and a TD...another TD of about 20 yards was called back...so he had 2 but only one stood. On the other side of the ball, Garon had a ton of tackles and nice hits. Theo... did a good job and didn't make any mistakes, he was throwing the ball well and hit Bronson and Baker at will it seemed. Nice game Theo. Baker...the most under used Grundy weapon. If they could manage to get the ball to this kid 10 times a game or so he would be all state at TE. He's a little slow, but he will catch anything close to him and will run over anyone who gets in his way. Played good D tonight also! Bronson...came to play tonight...not only had a great INT for a 91 yard TD, but caught a great TD pass and had a couple of good blocks as well. AW Looney...you combine Marcum, Marcum, and Looney in the backfield and you have the best 3 headed monster in the area to run with. Looney looked good running the ball tonight and got the majority of the carries. Nice 3 TD effort. Tigh...caught a couple of passes, kicked a few PAT's...was good to see him back out on offense. Colby Owens...looked like he had containment most of the night, but did great when he was sent...I'm probably most impressed with the year Colby is having as anything. Aaron Marcum...great hits all night long on D, one in particular he stayed with the play after it went to the opposite side and came back to make a crushing tackle...probably the hardest hit of the night...knocked down a couple of passes...and on offense they finally turned him loose for some nice runs and a TD. Caleb Smith...had some nice hits tonight...did good in coverage. Offensive line...much better job up front this week. The WR's are still not blocking well on run plays, and the corners are playing a little to soft? but it's getting there! Overall it was just a good team effort...congrats guys!
