Cabell Midland 28, Beckley 12

Beckley was within 2 points early in the 4th quarter before fumbling twice on their own 10 yard line leading to Midland scores. Beckley had five turnovers in the game and 3 in the fourth quarter. A number of penalties as well.

This has been the story the entire season. Beckley is getting closer, but the turnovers and penalties continue to plague them.

Beckley had some positives in this game. They went to a backup quarterback in the second quarter that had been playing on the defensive line. He led Beckley to back to back 80 yard scoring drives and was fairly good through the air, 4 of 8 passing for 75 yards.

The Beckley defense did a good job limiting John Saunders to 55 yards on the ground.

Marquel Ali continues to play great for Beckley as a freshman. He made a number of key plays from his starting safety postion, caught a pass for 37 yards, had a couple of nice returns, and actually out-rushed Saunders with close to 60 yards. He is quick and he has lots of moves. Still awfully young though.

Hopefully the team can finish the year off strong next week and go into next season with some confidence.

Eneje hasn't had the year that a lot of people expected. He had a good game against Morgantown but other than that he has struggled.

I think you can give a lot of the blame for not only him but the entire rushing attack to a line that is not up to par with some of the past few years lines. It's hard to run when there aren't any holes to run through.
