According to a former BHS coach, it's a private school that tends to recruit a little bit, sort of like that Pikeville school that called, waiting to play us (and they beat us) several years ago. buzzsawBeaver 12 Author Report Share Posted December 8, 2004 If I recall bluefield played wheeling central around '90, with a youthful team at laidley field for a regular season game. Wheeling central defeated bluefield convincingly in the 3rd and 4th quarters in that game. Most private schools do have formidable teams of course, and have a lot more players than is common for their respective classifications. Bluefield does owe pikeville game, they should schedule them. And mentioning private schools, it would be interesting to know if pikeville waited until a rebuilding season for bluefield to contact them, or what the situation is with that. If bluefield schedules them for '05, they should attempt to schedule them for '06 as well at least. But in my opinion, bluefield should schedule them at least for 1 more game.
